the meeting was adjourned, followed by
lunch with lunch committee and hostess in
charge.;
Lillian Pepper thanked Viola for her
hospitality and all that took part.

The March meeting of the St. Columban
Catholic Women's League was held on
• Thursday, March 15 in the parish hall,
with 13 Menibers, Sister Rita Coyne and
Father J.`Hardy present.
Mary Ann Feeney, president, opened the
meeting with the league prayer and a bi-
ble reading. Correspondence read by Sherri
Cronin included letters from the two
adapted families in India and several
thunk you cards. The annual CWL
Diocesan Convention will be held on May
8 and 9 in Chatham. A banner will be
made and taken to the convention, depic-
ting the theme, "Forward in Faith and Ac -
thin", for the 70th Anniversary of the
Catholic Women's League.
A donation will be made to the Stratford
Right to Life. It will go towards a
billboard sign. A Good Friday bake sale
will be held after the 3 p.m. liturgy ser-
vice. 'Ladies are asked to bring two items
for the sale.
The CWL will sponsor the Hibbert 4-H
Clgib "Breadventures" with a donation of
Dublin couplie wi!

their baked goods for the sale.
EUCHRE GAME
Winners at the Knights of Columbus
euchre game' Friday evening at St. Colum -
ban were: ladies high, Nancy O'Reilly;
mens high, Louis Kramers;most lone
hands, Joe -Visser; and door prize, Eileen
Sloan.
There were nine tables in play arid there
will be one more game on Friday, March
23 at 8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus
Hall in St. Columban. Lunch is provided
and everyone is welcome.
PUB NIGHT
A large crowd of people from St. Colum -
ban and the surrounding area attended the
St. Patrick's Irish Pub Night at the St. Col-
umban Hall on Saturday evening.
The Goderlch No Notes Jug Band provid-
ed the music and entertainment. During in-
termission everyone joined in singing many
Irish and old tyme favorites. They were
led by Father Hardy, who also added to
the entertainment with many Irish stories
and jokes. Lunch was served and two door
prizes were won. by Pat Delaney and Mary
Reynen.
PEOPLE
Cathy (Murray) Landry and children,
Nicolas and Jessica of Yellowknife, and
Visitors on the weekend with Eileen and
D,on MacRae were Jack and Denise Kelly,
of Stratford. On Sunday, James D., Marg,
Ian and Jennifer MacRae called in.
They've just returned from a very en-
joyable two weeks in Florida.
'the kinkora St. Patrick's Day dance
was well -attended in Mitchell Saturday
night. Don and Eileen MacRae won the
spot dance.
Jack and Marie Cleary, of London,
visited with mother Milly Evans on
Sunday.
Mr. Joseph Eckert Jr. and his friend
Cathy, of Kitchener, were home on the
weekend with Joe and Olga Eckert.
.Tim and Doreen Small have sold their
horne in Dublin and moved to Clinton. We
all wish them happiness in their new home
and we'll miss them around Dublin.
Welcome to the new owners of their home.
The robins are shivering today but
hopefully spring will return. Keep feeding
those birds.
Intended for last week
St. Patrick's Mission Council held their
well -attended Snowflake Dance March 3 in
the Brodhagen Community Centre. It had
been postponed from Feb. 24 because of
bad weather.
The evening was well -organized and
planned by Jim and Cathy Meagher, Mike
and Mary Helen Van Loon, Charlene and
Pat Delaney and Marg and John Van

Bakel. Music was supplied by disk jockeys
"Bob and Lila Foster."
Donated door prizes were won by Mar-
tin Van Bakel—glue gun from Moffat and
Powell, Glen Frances—flower arrangement
from Jet Transport, Robert Osborn—gift
certificate from O'Rourke Transport, Mar-
tin Verberne—picture from Goettlers Fur-
niture, Frank Verberne—shampoo and con-
ditioner from New Wave, Doug Fuhr—oil
spray from Bennewies and Kimberly
Nyland—bottle of wine from Pat Delaney.
The Mission Council would like to thank
everyone who attended to make this a
special evening.
The community's sympathy goes out to
Jane MacLeod and her family after the
passing of her father, Russell Parsons,
March 9. Jane is an employee at the Bank
of Commerce.

for a few days over the winter break were
their grandsons, Chad Wolfe, of Mitchell,
and Joey MacRae, of Dublin.

Eckert were Jerry and Marie Eckert, of

Toronto.

Eckert Jr. and a friend from Kitchener,
Don and Brenda Ryan, of London, Mary
Joe Nelson, of Lucknow, Steven and Norah
Eckert, of Egmondville, Shirley and Reiny
Van Loon, of Newmarket, David and
Tasha Steinbach, of Mitchell and Ann
Hurley, of Stratford.
Don and Eileen MacRae spent and even-
ing last week with her brother Keith
Davidson and his wife Audrey in
Kitchener.
Madie Murray of Seaforth, visited one day
last week with Cecilia Ryan.
Angela Walsh of London spent the
weekend with Jack and Margaret O'Reilly.
Laura, Les and Shannon Ward and
Louise Ryan, all of Kitchener, spent the
weekend with Cecilia Ryan and J.D. Marg,
Jenny and Ian MacRae of London, visited
on Sunday afternoon after returning from
a two week holiday in Florida.
4-11 REPORT
The Hibbert "Knutty Kneaders" held
their fourth meetig on March 13 at Marie
Vogels home. Jenny DeJong opened the
meeting with the 4-H pledge. Eleven
members answered the roll call. The
minutes were read by Janet Vanden
Hoven.
Leanne Vogels punched down the sweet
roll dough to the first rise stage. She then
demonstrated how to shape different rolls
- clover leaf, parkerhouse, bow knots,
snails and spiral twists. Tanya
Vansteelandt made cheese buns with the
quick rise yeast.
The bake fair was discussed and it was
decided the girls will contribute a recipe of
the "Breadventure" to the St. Columban
VTL's Good Fri.::y Bake..Q, uction in return
for their generosity ,ii 34eing the olub's
sponsoring organization.
The girls practis ri kneading and shaping
dough into rolls while the rolls and buns
were baking. Material for the review
sheets was discussed and the finished pro-
ducts were sampled before the meeting
adjourned.
Marie Smith returned to her home in
California after visiting two weeks with her
parents, Jack and Verda Sinclair.
