Founded by the Box and Broadfoot fur-
niture partners • in the early 1900's, the
funeral business was taken over in 1951 by
Richard Box, Previously, Ernie Box,
Richards father, had acted as funeral
director and often held services in the fur-
niture store.
The business was eventually sold to M.L.
Watts Funeral homes; who remained in
operation until 1985. Micheal Falconer pur-
chased the chapel at that time and placed
it under the management of director C.D.
Demme, who still holds the position. "It's
hard to believe that we've been here for
five years now," Mr. Falconer remarked
to the gathering on Sunday.
Extensive renovation began in
September. The interior was gutted and
refurbished, and the chapel exterior was
completely rebricked.

"A lot of the inside work was done by
ourselves," Mr. Falconer remarks proud-
ly. "We spent a lot of late nights in here
working!"
The results are well worth the effort,
and many visitors remarked on the
renovations. Landscaping work is schedul-
ed for later in the spring.
DEDICATION SERVICES were held on Sunday afternoon for the newly refurbish-
ed Ball and Falconer Box Funeral Chapel on John St., Seaforth.. Performing the
dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony were (left to right) Box Funeral Chapel
employee Chris Smith, Father Caruana, Seaforth Mayor Hazel Hildebrand, Reverend
Cheryl -Ann Stedelbauer-Sampa and Mike Falconer. Elliott photo.

Queensway residents try
hinds at nanaimo bars
Hello! Welcome to Queensway News.
Monday morning several residents
gathered in the sunroom to listen to the
United Church service tape. In the after-
noon residents couldn't resist the beautiful
balmy weather. Many enjoyed walks or
wheelchair rides outdoors.
Bev Robinson of the Exeter United
Church led the worship service Tuesday
afternoon with Peggie Clark as pianist. In
the evening the Christian Reformed
Singers presented a program.
Fun and Fitness, started the day
Wednesday and in the afternoon the Bak-
ing Club tried their many hands at
Nanaimo bars. Residents discovered there
