Founded by the Box and Broadfoot fur- niture partners • in the early 1900's, the funeral business was taken over in 1951 by Richard Box, Previously, Ernie Box, Richards father, had acted as funeral director and often held services in the fur- niture store. The business was eventually sold to M.L. Watts Funeral homes; who remained in operation until 1985. Micheal Falconer pur- chased the chapel at that time and placed it under the management of director C.D. Demme, who still holds the position. "It's hard to believe that we've been here for five years now," Mr. Falconer remarked to the gathering on Sunday. Extensive renovation began in September. The interior was gutted and refurbished, and the chapel exterior was completely rebricked. THE HURON EXPOSITOR.
