Teachers to battle it out on ice
The Seaforth Recreation Department will
be offering a March Break Program again
this year. It will be held March 12 to 16,
1990 at the Seaforth and District Conuntun-
ty Centres. Activities will include sports,
games, arts and crafts. Please watch The
Expositor for more information, or call the
Recreation Office at 527-0802.
There will be no Public Skating this
weekend due to the hosting of the Annual
TEACHERS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT.
This Tournament will be held at the
Seaforth and District Community Centres
on Saturday, March 3, 1990. Come out and
watch some local teams. •
SENIOR SHUFFLEBOARD continues
every Wednesday'aftemoon at the Seaforth
and District Community Centres from 1:30
to 4pm. This is a great time to tune up
your playing skills as the Seaforth Senior
Games are fast approaching. Other games
available to practise on are; Carpet Bowl-
ing, Table Tennis, Crokinole, or any Card
Game.

Fanshawe College School Of Continuing
Education will be hosting a seminar on
Basic Management of ATHLETIC IN-
JURIES. This Seminar is designed for the
weekend coach, teachers, or anybody in-
terest to learn about basic athletic injuries.
Course content will cOncentrate on iden-

specific tips caf'preVention and'rer-hilb 'of
the most common injuries. • Lab portion will
emphasize hands on skills such as taping,
bandaging and basic joint assessment.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER will be held
on Friday, March 2pm. This year's host is
the First Presbyterian Church. The Theme
is "A Better Tomorrow -Justice for All".
Men, Women and Children are welcome.
Babysitting will also be provided.
The Blyth Festival Art Gallery is spon-
soring an exciting new ART CLASS to be
offered beginning in March and held in
Blyth at the Garage on Dinsley Street, the
newly renovated production facility used

fered to adults and youth aged 12 and up.
Enrolment is limited so call today. Ron
Walker, an outstanding artist and art
educator from Blyth will offer a course on
Basic Drawing on Monday evenings star-
ting on March 26.
This will be a 6 week
course will cover instruction in basic draw-
ing, 'rendering, sketching, construction
drawing and students will learn a bit about
the history of drawing. To register for this
program sponsored by the Blyth Festival
Art Gallery, call the Blyth Festival office
at 523-4345.
Kangaroos back
The Kangaroos lead the St. James Bowl-
ing League again by one point after taking
five points from the Monkeys this week.
Top scorers for the Kangaroos were Rob
Taylor 267 681; Don Nolan 220 - 654; Rob
McEwen 229-577; and Francis Feeney 200
- 492.
Murray Bennewies led the Monkeys

place with top scorers being George Love
261 - 712; and Dave Moody 260 - 658. Todd
Caldwell led the Pythons with a 338 - 789;
followed by Jack Ryan 253 - 661: and

The Coons took five points from the
Leopards and hold third- place. Pat Nolan
led with a 286 - 686; followed by Cathy
Broome 208 - 571; and Bert Kloss 211- 485. •
Top scorers for the Leopards were Pat
Ryan 222 - 501; and Karen Hoegy 208 - 484.

Bill Harris high roller at Senior bowling
Oliver Pryce also had a 221 single and
Campbell Wey a 211.
For the ladies Anne Wood again had a
603 triple and 235 single. Other lady
bowlers over 200 were Betty Leonhardt,
212, and Olave Little 201.
The Bruins won seven points on the Jets
to continue their lead over all. The Oilers
took seven points on the Flames as they
missed Lloyd Pipes flashy finishes. The
Oilers also took five points from the Leafs.
In the draw lucky winners were Hazel
McGonigle, Katie Phillips and Bert
Walters. A week ago misprint appeared
with birthday greetings to Hazel McGonigle
and should •have been to Hazel
McNaughton who was celebrating her 83rd
birthday. Hazel never missed an afternoon
of bowling during the fall schedule so hap-
py belated wished from the league.
Senior bowlers turned out well on Friday
for Senior Bowling. BM Harris was the big
roller with a 279 single and 719 triple.
