If you are a Community organization or
belong to a group, and was wondering if
the Recreation Department is going to host
a COMMUNITY RECREATION SPRING

Recreation Committee feels 'it is not feasi-

fact the participation level is low. Nobody
wants to commit a full Saturday. We do
have a solution to this problem. The
Recreation Committee will bring in various
guest speakers on week nights for a cou-
ple of hours. These people will speak about
whatever you want to hear. Therefore, I
am asking for your imput.,.If your
organization would like new fundraising
ideas, let me know, and r will find a
speaker who specializes in this area. If you
or your group have any suggestions please

This week's fitness tip; WALKING, THE
,PERFECT EXERCISE. Walking is a
universal, easily accessible, non -
programmed way to fitness. By its very
1-7 nature, it begs the unscientific approach.
There's no conscious thought of "exercis-
ing", but rosy cheeks, a spring in the
stride, and the good feeling after let you
know you're on the right track. "If you're
looking for fitness, you'll be happy to know
you can walk there." Walking doesn't of-
fer the sped of running or cycling, or the
demands of swimming, but it's equally
pleasurable and relaxing, a great place to
start, and for many, a place they happily
stay. Equipment is no problem, all you
need are comfortable shoes and clothing to
suit the weather and you can head out the
door. "Happy Walking."

games straight. This was evident as they
came out flying, determined to win this
game also. They took an early lead scor-

play. Halfway through the period Shaun
Anstett skated through' their defence and
picked off the top right corner. The Mit-

Only two goals were scored in the se-

been a lot more if Seaforth's Scott Wood
had not been hot. Less than 30 seconds into
the period Chris Marion received a pass
from Pat Gridzak while standing all alone
in the slot and put it up into the corner.
After much back and forth'play Mitchell
managed to get the puck behind the
Seaforth goalie again. At the end of the se-
cond it was Seaforth 4 and Mitchell 3.
Mitchell came out strong in the third and
put in three goals in a row. With only 2 1/2
minutes left in the game Mitchell had a
two goal lead. The coach decided to pull
the goalie so Seaforth now hail six at-
tackers and an empty net. Chris Marion
scored on a back hand shot with 48
seconds left and then fired again! with 35
seconds left. Assists went to Jaso Smith,
Brent Hulley, and Mark Van ooren.
These two goals tied the score at at the
end of regulation time.
The announcer informed the fans they
would be watching a full ten minute over-
time period. The coach put Scott Wood
back in net and the play went back'\and
forth at full speed. Mitchell's number 10,
Greg Houben, was assigned the job' of
shadowing Seaforth's number 9, Shaun
Anstett. The fans were feeling frustrated
for Shaun and were impressed with how he
kept his cool.
With Shaun taking up so much of Mit-
chell's tune, effort and manpower, Mark
Van Dooren was able to get a pass from
the corner to Chris Marion in the slot for
the go ahead goal with only three minutes
left in the overtime period. Could Seaforth
hang on to the lead? Mitchell was press-
ing and with nothing to lose pulled their
goalie. Shaun Anstett, able to free himself
for a few seconds, managed to get a pass
to Chris Marion who put the puck into the
empty net. The final score was Seaforth 8
Mitchell 6 after 55 minutes of play.
Congratulations to the whole team for
giving their best effort whether trailing or
ahead and to Chris Marion for a 6 -goal
game. Hopefully the team will be at their
best when Mitchell comes to town.
