The Seaforth Club was pleased to have
been represented in the West Challenge
Round in Southampton by Gord Pryce,
Dave Ste. Marie, Ron Pryce and Dave
Campbell last weekend. We are proud of
our fellows, even though they were edged
out by Owen Sound 6-5 and lost to Bob In-
gram of Chatham 6-2 in the 16 rink double
knockout event. This is big time curling
with some of Ontario's top curlers com-
peting to advance to the Ontario finals and
eventually the coveted Brier. Gordon Pryce
said it was a great experience to be on the
sheet of ice next to Russ Howard, a world
champion.
The Sunday morning hockey players had
some fun on the curling ice again this
week and enjoyed breakfast prepared and
served by the members of the Club.

Country Club Trophy. Although the hard-
ware was spirited off by Fergus, who also
was the winner of the second draw, and
Karen Kirk's Goderich rink who won the
first draw, the home club members were
most gracious hosts and hostesses. The
ladies were piped onto the ice by John
Jewitt. The men's Club prepared and serv-
ed a delicious roast pork banquet for which
many were most grateful it wasn't the
'haggis.' The swirl of the pipes, played by
John, ushered in Neil McGavin "clasping
the blade" followed by stretcher bearers
Gary McNichol and Neil Dolmage carrying
the haggis (all suitabley attired in their
surgical coats.) As the "address to the
Haggis" began, it sounded as if Robbie
Burns himself had arrived for the occa-
sion, but after a wee peek under his tam
'o' shanter, we knew it was our own
Beecher Menzies. It was a fitting tradition
for the day and enjoyed by all.
Two ladies rinks went to Exeter on
Saturday, January 27. Flo Smith's rink of
Elaine Floyd, Linda Gingerich and Jan
Moore won the Consolation event. Joan.
Beuerman, Loretta Dolmage, Elsie Beuer-
man and Ann Bosman won one game and
lost their second game.

DUMPERS 1 - KNIGHTS 0
Dumpers squeak through with a win as
Rick Archambault flips a shot into an open
net. His sidekicks were John Devereaux
and Bob McKenzie. The Knights played a
tremendous broomball game but couldn't
capitalize on their chances of scoring.
ROYALS 1 - RED RUSTLERS 1
Mark Ryan scores the only goal for the
Rustlers as he taps the ball into the net off
a neat pass by Kent Howatt. Chuck Dow
ties things up when he bangs the ball into
the opposing net and scores a goal. Thanks
Jack Van Miltenburg for the pass. Great
game between these two teams.
EASY RIDERS 6 - GRADS 2
Steve Eckert collects two goals for the
Easy Riders with no assistance. Jeff Allen
gets a goal from face off, a neat pass back
by Rick Fowler. A blasting shot by Ed
Van Miltenburg goes right into the net, off
a pass from Dick Robinson. From defence,
Brian Sowerby shoots and scores, assisted
by Rick Harris. Robert MacGregor also
scores with a little help from Jim Butson
and Terry Morey. The Grads' two goals
were scored by Gary Dill and Ray Filson
with back up help from Tony Van Den
Heuvel, Chris Poland and Robert Wydeven.
The Grads' goalie had a lot of shots and
played well.

JR. FARMERS 0 - COMMERCIAL 3
Tammy Nash's quick action shot proves
prosperous for the Commercial as she
scores the first goal. The second goal came
from Lori Sherbeth off super passing by
Pam Carter. Mighty Linda Boyd is on the
move as she scores a goal off a pass from
Susan Hulley. Be tough Jr. Farmers as
there are more broomball games to come.
PARR LINE 2 - WINTHROP 1
Heidi Elliott deflects a dynamite pass
from Sandi Fremlin into the top corner of
the net for the first Parr Line. Bev Shea
shoots and gets credit for a deflected goal.
With three minutes left in the game the
crowd is going wild as Tammy Nash blasts
the ball past the Parr Line goalie and in-
to the net, off an awesome pass by Lisa
Henderson.
QUEENS 6 - PERTH 0
Moving up from defence to wing,
Georgina Reynolds scores a goal off a
pass by Marg Henderson. A corner shot
goal by Janice Finlayson counted for
number two. Three and four were both
scored by Cheryl Kruse, assisted by Jean
Haggitt. Lisa Henderson scores a goal as
well and Teresa Finlayson, assisted by
Audrey Hutton, rounds out the Queen's
