There was plenty of good company and
good food when the members of Hibbert
United Church Women enjoyed a potluck
luncheon, hosted by Gwen and Margaret
Christie in the Family life Center.
After the tables were cleared, chairper-
son Margaret Kemp asked Miss Allen to

up against a problem he can't solve. But
on the way to Stratford with a passenger
Sunday evening he met his match when he
found a stork had invaded his taxi a short
distance east of Sebringville. "I didn't
know what to do, so I drove as fast as I
could to the Stratford Hospital,” he said.
In moments, nurses had taken over and
his fare and the new baby were safely in
the hospital. At last report, mother and
daughter were both doing well, Mr. Lemon
said.

soon discovered a fire in a closet under
the stairwell. Cause of the fire is
w6determined.
Because of the size of the home, and
the fact it filled quickly with smoke,
firefighters were forced to break windows
for ventilation purposes. The majority of
the damage to the house, however, was
caused by smoke and water, and Seaforth
Fire Chief George Garrick estimates it
will cost approximately $15,000 to restore.
The home was insured.
Unfortunately though, this story affects
two families, as the home had recently
been sold to Vincent Murray.

Bryan Vincent reported that, as of Fri-
day afternoon, only eight women had pre-
reigistered for the course. It was noted
that the local Farm Safety Association
organization, who co-sponsored the course,
did not do a very ambitious job of pro-
moting the event, which may have resulted
in the low number of registrants.,
The date and time for the course will be
published when available.

PET THERAPY - The Activation Group of the Seaforth Community Hospital tried
a new approach to increasing the morale of its chronic care patients last week.
Two pets - a hamster and a chihauhau, were brought in to visit with the patients,
as a sort of pet therapy. Studies have shown that animals have a calming effect
on most people. The hospital hopes to continue its Pet Therapy every two weeks,
but only pets that are in top health, and that are friendly can be permitted indoors.
All pets must first be approved by the Infection Control of the hospital. Here, John
Higgs, right, enjoys a visit with his pet'chihauhau Tina. Watching the reunion is
John's wife Rosalind. Robinet photo.
