The next rally will be a skating party at Zurich Arena on February 17 at 7:15 p.m. There will be a Winter Retreat at Circle C Ranch February 9 to 11 at Delevan New York. This was an exciting beginning for the New Year, South Huron YFC's, 40th year of ministering to the South Huron Area. SHUFFLEBOARD Highest score on January 8 went to George Dowson 328, Dave Woodward 299, Walter Davis 270 and Eileen Dowson 266. SENIOR NEWS The Hensall Three Links Seniors met on January 9 at 2 p.m. with 18 members and card party is January 23 at 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Jeanette Turner, Eileen Anderson and Eileen Ramie were in charge of cards and served a delicious lunch. Winners of cards ladies, Irene Davis, Helen Anderson, men's card; Pearl Taylor, Hilda Payne. Lone hands, Irene Finlayson, lucky chair Eileen Dowson. CHURCH Sharon Dox>rgreted the worshippers at Hensall United Church. She was assisted by Rev. Wright. Cathy Mann read the old testament and epistle lessons. The children's story was told by Rev. Wright about how we should do the right things that we are expected to do and all things work out for the bet- ter. "Lord make us worthy" by Natalie Sloth was sung by the choir. The sermon title was "Who is Jesus" and the gospel lesson was from John 1:29-35. Gerry Tra- quir and Rick McGee were the ushers. Next Sunday after worship there will be fellowship and at 6:30 p.m. the annual con- gregation meeting will be held with a potluck supper followed by the business meeting. Plan to attend. The Right Reverend Sang Chill Lee Moderator of United Church will speak at Exeter United Church Friday January 19 at 8 p.m. Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Childr'each will continue. Family of the Origin, speaker Ron Mellish. Anyone interested is welcome to attend these series. CARMEL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH The Carmel Presbyterian Church Women held their regular meeting on January 14, 1990. SECOND SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY Following the organ prelude, Rev. Mark Gaskin called the congregation to worship. The Sanctus and prayers and hymns were next in order. Rev. Mark gave a very interesting ser- mon on "Rejection". The usual order of service followed and there was a special announcement. The week of prayers for Christian unity services will be held on Monday, January 29 at the Presbyterian Church in Hensall. These services are ecumenical and lay people are encouraged to attend so that we may celebrate what we have in common with other Christians traditions. This should be a very interesting service and we welcome you. Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop realizes $8,000 The month of January was the annual reports evening for the Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary. Reports were given by all com- mittee members and treasurers. The Gift Shop realized an income of over $8,000 last year. To all Gift Shop com- mittee members a round of applause for a job well done, and especially to Shirley Dinsmore and Linda Huard for all the book work. A special "Thank you", to Susan Dick for the organizing of the Gift Shop work Calendar, and to all those who do the handcrafts, knitting and decorating HOSPITAL AUXILIARY and work or help in anyway. "Thanks" also to the staff for their patronage and support. This is the first time in three years that the annual workshop will be held in the area.
