The death is chronicled of Mr. Joseph
Herbert, a highly respected resident of
Seaforth. Mr. Herbert was a native of
Eegland, had reaobed the unusual age

served 25 years, attaining to the rank of
sergeant. He saw much active service,
and had several medals for faithful ser-
vice and brave conduct. He finally re-
ceived an honorable discharge, being
allowed to retain his military rank.

There must be something radically
wrong in our system of education when
