for a Stewardship skit, The Piggy

Morrison, Diane Henderson, Mary
Lou Irwin and Karen Latour, as a
group of youth discussed whether
to spend their money (piggy banks)
on themselves or to share their gifts
with the needy.
Each letter of Stewardship was
expanded, eg S-Servingwith our time.
Elaine shared from the latest Mission
and Service pamphlet on the work the
United Church is doing across
i
Canada. They hymn, "We Have a
Wondrous World" was sung and
scripture from Timothy was read.
In the business, Glena read the
minutes and Diane gave the treas-
urer's report. Many notes of thanks
for being remembered and dona-
tions were read. Donations to the

Sunday School, the CGIT Celebra-
tion and for Patricia Robinson's
medical mission to Tanzania were
approved. The Observer subscrip-
tions will increase to $25.
Nimble Fingers will meet on
October 21 to prepare for the
Bazaar. They have given several
Comfort Blankets to those receiv-
ing treatments and will dedicate
new cupboards in the pie room.
Dates were noted for catering and
Fruit and Turkey Pie Making. The
Turkey Supper will be on October 20.
The meeting closed with the
UCW Prayer.
The final event in the 2015 Ripley Fall Fair Ambassador Competition was
a game of Fair Trivia. The contestants were each given a pompom to raise
when they wished to attempt to answer a question. The final challenge was to
construct an item out of Play Doh that represented a fair -themed item drawn by
the MC. The item was a house. Kirsten Walden (right) won the house challenge,
but Gregory Reid (centre) triumphed in the Fair Trivia totals by just one point.

Some who had entered the homecraft, baking, field crop and various other
indoor classes checked out their prize status before the Variety Night at the
2015 Ripley Fall Fair on September 25.

Robb Thompson and Penny Far-
agher-Robertson presented the
awards from the Pine River Water-
shed Initiative Network. The 4-H Con-
servationist awards went to Maggie
Robinson and Mack Coennen. The
business awards were presented to
Peter Schlegle and long-time fair sup-
porters Donna and Perry Elliott.
Fairgoers took the opportunity to
browse through the indoor exhibits
and to enjoy the beautiful evening
to check out the midway, vendors
and booths.
Maggie Durnin provided musical entertainment during the
Variety Show on September 25 for the 2015 Ripley Fall Fair.

There were many competitors of all sizes in the Frog
Jumping Contest at the Ripley Fall Fair on September 25.
Karl Heinisch commented that in all of his time of being
Captain Frogman (the official running the competition) he
had never touched a frog the colour of this red one.
