After a lot of work by a group of citizens interested in preserving history in Ashfield Township, it was discovered that the names of the veterans from Ashfield Township had not been placed on any cenotaph. With permission from Lucknow Legion Branch 309, the names are now inscribed in the Lucknow cenotaph and were read out by Vandiepenbeek during the ceremony. The names of the Ashfield Township veterans were inscribed on the Lucknow cenotaph in time to be honoured at the November 11, 2015, Remembrance ceremony. The veterans honoured are: Frank Finch, Alex Hamilton, Grant Henderson, Alex Henry, Robert Hibben, Alex Irvin, James Kirk, Joseph O'Keefe, Alfred Steel, Frederick Steel, Gilbert Thomas. giving back to the community money and services, and bought thousands in merchandise, dance tickets and beverages, the Ripley Reunion has officially paid our bills and will have a good deal of money to donate back to the community before year's end. Although we do not have a final tally yet, we are putting out a call to community groups and organizations who would like to apply for funding. It's a very simple process. Submit a formal letter to info@ripleyreunion.ca with information about your group, how much funding you would like and what you would use the money for. Our commit- tee will then meet to decide the best use of our profits and hope- fully your organization is on that list. All letters must be submitted by email at info@ripleyreun- ion.ca and the deadline is November 27, 2015.
