beside a crib quilt she quilted featuring a bear on a rocking horse. The quilt
was on offering at the Lucknow United Church bazaar November 7, 2015.
As usual at the Annual Lucknow United Church Bazaar, Bake Sale and Luncheon, the meal was served in the centre
of the main room while vendor tables lined the outside walls. A freezer beside the kitchen pass through held fruit
pies for sale that could be taken home, thawed and served at a later date. More goodies were on offer in the parlour
on November 7, 2015.

Lucknow UCW Afternoon
Group met on a sunny,
warm November 3 at River
Valley Apartments enjoying
first a noon luncheon of
lasagna, salad, and scrump-
tious desserts contributed by
several members.
Joyce Adamson welcomed
everyone with a prayer, then
read "Something to Remem-
ber". Ruth Pritchard read
"Trusting Tenaciously".
Scripture was from Isaiah
2:1-5. Joyce read "Lest We
Forget': A minute of silence
followed. Nancy Walden cir-
culated Canada Post's 2015
poppy stamp which com-
memorates the 100th anni-
versary of the first publishing
of Major John McCrae's
poem "In Flanders
Fields': Ruth read the poign-
ant poem "Just a Common
Soldier" by Lawrence Vain -
court, followed by Joyce
reading "Something to
Remember':
As we don't meet again till
Feb 2016, we fastforwarded
to thinking towards Advent
and Christmas. With Joyce at
the piano, we sang a verse
of 0 Come, All Ye Faith-
ful. Ruth had us grinning
reading "A Dieter's Christ-
mas" Joyce read "Our
Christmas Gift to You" and
an amusing "Happy New
Year': Several members con-
tributed with poems and
readings of thoughts
and remembrance. Joyce
closed with prayer.
Karen Latour led busi-
ness. Roll Call was
answered with a particular
memory. Helen Cleland
read the Least Coin news-
letter about peace, praying
for all those in the world
living without peace, and
being grateful to live in our
country in peace.
We agreed our Special
Projects monies would go
to support Ontario Chris-
tian Gleaners in Cam-
bridge for their wonderful
volunteer work producing
nutritious, dehydrated
soup packages to send all
over the world. We closed
repeating the UCW Prayer.
We look forward to
attending the UCW Supper
and General Meeting at the
Church in early December.
And we send healing
thoughts and prayers to
Jean Irwin as she heals her
broken hip in Wingham
Hospital.
