Nurses' Week is a perfect opportunity to publicly recognize the knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate nurses who are part of the Pinecrest Team. These professional nurses practice using a Food Share update person centered approach to care. They are critical thinkers who assess resi- dents' needs, plan inter- ventions and evaluate out- comes. Our nurses participate in continuing education, are strong lead- ers, know how to manage conflict and act as advo- cates. Registered Nursing staff members at Pinecrest take leadership for a North Huron Community someone who is. This job action will involve the withdrawal of some sup- port for administrative activities and non -partici- pation in EQAO testing, staff meetings, and profes- sional development activities. It is important to note that: until further notice, all AMDSB schools will remain open and pro- gramming will continue; and, school activities such as field trips, sports, extra- curricular activities are expected to continue as variety of programs including: Falls Preven- tion, Skin and Wound Management, Nursing Rehab, Behaviour Support, Palliative Care, Infection Control, Education and Health and Safety. Nurses play an integral role in continuous quality improvement and they recognize the value of interdisciplinary teams to keeping with having local celebrities, we have asked Carol Phillips (local gym guru) to lead us in some non -strenuous exercises, we don't want to pull any muscles, do we. We are also having some "unique" prizes for the top 3 Fund Raisers and top 3 Costumes. All monies raised are to help stock the shelves of the North Huron Community Food Share over the upcoming summer, when donations tend to fall off, but the use of the Food Share continues. We are currently helping almost middle class? I think the latter. There are countries that are doing just that by succeeding at three things: going after tax evad- ers (we are owed $80 billion but our Revenue Agency is going after charities instead); funding universal programs like health care, education and day care—all of which research has shown to increase people's economic mobility; target- ing those who truly need help—the homeless, the planned. As student safety remains the top priority for the Avon Maitland District School Board, board staff is com- mitted to keeping you informed as more informa- tion becomes available. I encourage parents/ guardi- ans to monitor the AMDSB website at www.your- schools.ca, to follow us on Twitter @yourschools and our Facebook Page at promote quality of life and quality of care for each resident. It's a pleasure to recognize the knowledge, skill and compassion of our dedicated nurses. The nurses at Pinecrest truly are, "Nurses: with you every step of the way': Sincerely, Margaret deBoer 150 families each month. The idea for this race may be all fun.... But the needs of our clients & Food Share is no laughing matter. Please contact me at gkkaster@bell.net or call me at 519-357-4483 if you would like to be a partici- pant in this unique race. As the need continues to grow, we thank you for your generous donations and on- going support of the North Huron Community Food Share - So No One Goes Hungry!!!! Gord Kaster - Media Relations poorly housed, the unemployed. Sure, I can use some of the perks from the budget. But I'd gladly give them up to see my neighbours in Grey Bruce get better jobs and money for long-term economic development here. But there's nothing in the Harper Government budget for the very things we need the most. David McLaren Neyaashiinigmiing, ON https://www.facebook. com/AvonMaitlandSchools. Updates will also be availa- ble through the local media. It is important to note that Avon Maitland secondary students (grades 9 to 12) will not be affected by this job action.
