April at Goderich Coop Gallery
Submitted
Goderich Coop Gallery is
pleased to welcome back Strat-
ford artist Susan Green to the
gallery. Susan's new work will
be showing for the month of
April, as we return to extended
hours and welcome new work
from our Featured Guest Artist,
as well as interesting work from
participants in our annual
Community Show, "Exposure'.
Susan's new work arises from
an exciting painting opportu-
nity to work and study with a
painting group in Tuscany, in
the fall of 2014. Susan enjoyed
discovering the similarities in
line and rhythm between
Renaissance art and the Tuscan
landscape, where she found
that, "the sweep of a dancer's
dress were echoed in the lines
of a furrowed field, and the
undulating hills of Tuscany':
Susan feels fortunate to have
been able to sketch in the
Marini Museum from sculp-
tures by Marino Marini, and her
work, done from studying the
actual sculptures, rather than
from photographs give much
more substance and emotion to
her drawings. Viewers will see
this featured in her Renaissance
City prints, which are "a com-
posite of shapes of the Renais-
sance buildings I saw in Tus-
cany and Umbria':
Visitors to the Coop Gallery
will recall that Susan Green is

Huron -Kinloss Council met
on March 16, 2015.
Acciona Requests Extension
Acciona has requested an
extension until June 30 to work
on a fire suppression system
that will comply with the By-
law set out by Council. In dis-
cussion, it was noted that this is
not the first extension
requested to deal with fire sup-
pression should there be an
emergency at a wind turbine.
In order to avoid further delays
to deal with this issue, the
extension was granted, but
with the stipulation that it
would be the last extension.
OPP Contract
Currently there is no con-
tract between Huron -Kinloss
Township and South Bruce
OPP. Staff is recommending
entering into a 3 year con-
tract. The contract would first
be negotiated, after which a
Police Services Board would
be assigned to work more
closely with the OPP. Under
the contract there will be
meetings 4 times per hear
which would mean more
communication between the
Township and the OPP which
would make the OPP more
accountable to work with the
Council, although it was
pointed out that Huron -Kin-
loss already has a good rela-
tionship with South Bruce
OPP.
Development at 737 Camp-
bell St, Lucknow
Municipal and County staff
are working with Cantam
Group for proposed develop-
ment between Mary's Restau-
rant and the Fire Station. Can -
tam Group has designed a site
plan proposal which will be
brought forward to Council.
The proposal is for a gas station
combined with a 3,500 square
foot building which would
include a 30 -seat restaurant
and convenience store. In dis-
cussion it was stated that the
developer believes this will not
create competition with exist-
ing businesses.
