After 5 Games of hockey they won the Runner Up Medals in the "C" Division. The Girls played their first game on Friday Night vs. Ilderton Jets and lost 2-1. Erica Murray scored the only goal of the game assisted by Brianna Dickson. Saturday morning the girls started off the day vs. West Grey. Haley Gibson started off with scoring a goal in the first period assisted by Bri- anna Dickson to make the game 1-0. It was a close game and the whole team worked hard to keep it that way. The third period got under way and Erica Murray scored assisted by Tori Cutting to get the 2-0 lead. The girls kept us cheering hard as they tried to keep the score where it was. Michelle Angst had some great saves in net and as the game ended celebrated her first shut out of the season. Game two got under way after the girls had a great time at the Bowling Alley celebrat- ing Cassie Wilson's birthday. Loaded with lots of positive energy they went on the ice and were faced with another very close game vs. BCH/ Blyth -Brussels. They weren't able to score in the first period and kept the tie going right half way into the second period. That was when Tori Cutting was able to score a goal assisted by Brianna Dickson and Haley Gibson. Lots of cheering kept going as the girls played their hearts out on the ice and were able to keep the score at a 1-0 to go on and win that game. This meant shutout two for Michelle Angst in net and another great performance of the whole team! The girls now were able to go on to the Final Games and played game 4 of the tourna- ment on Sunday morning. What a close game that was, parents, grandparents etc. were kept at the edges of their seats cheering as the game was played vs. Mount Forest. 86'ers Halle Hogg was able to score in the second period assisted by Maya Robinson and Tori Cutting to make the game 1-0. Mount Forest fol- lowed suit and got the score to 1-1 before going into the third. In the third period our girls were able to even it out again with an unassisted goal by Erica Murray. But only a bit later Mount Forest was able to score again to make it a 2-2 tie. Overtime was played without a score and the girls were faced going into a sudden death shoot out. Wow, what an exciting game! Erica Murray was our first shooter, full force she went at it and scored!
