The chili lunch fundraiser
prompted by Erin Gilchrist who
will be going to Western Kenya this
summer on an intership was by all
accounts a success. Gilchrist is rais-
ing the funds to help finance a
water springs development project
in Maragoli Kenya. The chili lunch
was held at the Lucknow Town Hall
on Saturday Marchl4, 2015.
Gilchrist and her helpers were
pleased with the turnout and sup-
port that was shown. They were
kept busy serving lunch through-
out the entire time allotted.
Several people who came out were
quite happy to give their comments
to pass on to Erin and her family.
The table where Walter and
William Dickie, Irene Parker and
young girls Ever and Lachlan Chow
were glad to come to support Erin
on her trip to Africa. They stated,
"We know Erin and her family very
well. There is a wonderful turnout!
Lachlan and Ever were very excited
to come to the chili luncheon. The
green decor helped celebrate St.
Patty's Day, too!
Margaret Finlay was one of
many with the same positive
responses. "This lunch is excel-
lent. That includes the food, the
crowd and everything. It is nice to
see everyone." Many added that it
was also a good cause and wish
Erin well on her adventures and
her journey.
Rod McDonagh commented
that, "it is wonderful seeing a per-
son of this age doing something on
an international level
Erin Gilchrest was thrilled with
the turnout and the number of
donations made toward the water
springs development project. Of
course, family members
expressed their pride in both Erin
and her plans.
