Toes were tapping, hands
were clapping and people
sang along, often in har-
mony, at the St. Patrick's cel-
ebration at the Dungannon
Agricultural Hall on March
14, 2015.
St. Joseph's Kingsbridge
community has been
holding fundraisers and
functions since the closing
of the church in 2014.
These are twofold, to raise
funds to purchase a
replacement building to
hold functions and activi-
ties of all sorts and to keep
everyone connected dur-
ing the transition.
Although donations were
being accepted at the St.
Bridget Hayden played several fiddle tunes during the St.
Joseph's Kingsbridge Community St. Paddy Celebration,
Dungannon, March 14, 2015.
Shannon Petrie was one of the vocalists to perform during the
St. Joseph's Kingsbridge Community St. Paddy Celebration,
Dungannon, March 14, 2015.
Patrick's celebration, it was
acknowledged that the pur-
pose of this event was shar-
ing time, talent and friend-
ship. This was certainly the
case as performers rotated
onto the stage with fiddles,
guitars, keyboard, flute,
squeezebox, recitations,
stepdancing and lots and
lots of singing.
It is hoped that within 2
years a new gathering place
will have been secured and
ready to house all the activi-
ties that had been enjoyed
in the former church. In the
meantime there will be
many more opportunities
for the St. Joseph's Kings-
brigde Community to get
together and to share their
time and talents with the
surrounding community.
