Lucknow Kinsmen
Club thanks Students
Donations to
LCPS and
Brookside
Submitted
Grade 8 students received
a boost in their fundraising
from the Lucknow Kinsmen
Club. Students from both
Lucknow Central Public
School and Brookside Pub-
lic School had helped the
Lucknow Kinsmen and
Music in the Fields commit-
tee clean up during and
after the Lucknow's Music
in the Fields concerts. To
show their appreciation,
each school received a
cheque to help fund the
Grade 8 class's trip to
Ottawa.
Many thanks from the
Kinsmen to the kids and
their parents for all the hard
work. There were over five
dump trucks of junk plus all
of the empties.

Board seeks Public Input
for Multi -Year Strategic
Submitted
Chesley, ON - Bluewater
District School Board is
seeking stakeholder input as
it undergoes a review of its
Multi -Year Strategic Plan.
Members of the public are
invited to participate in a
survey, which is available on
the board website at www.
bwdsb.on.ca from March 2
until April 24, 2015.
The Bluewater District
School Board Multi -Year
Strategic Plan was launched
in January 2012 following
comprehensive consulta-
tion with stakeholders and
includes the following
vision, mission and
priorities:
Vision: "Preparing Our
Students Today for the
World of Tomorrow"
Mission: "We are a learn-
ing organization committed
to providing a quality edu-
cational experience for
every student in a safe and
caring environment:'
Priorities: Ensure the
well-being of students and
staff in a supportive envi-
ronment for teaching, learn-
ing and working. Provide
quality instruction and
learning experiences in an
equitable and inclusive
environment. Encourage
parent engagement. In June
2014, a fourth priority was
established: be accountable
for the responsible steward-
ship of resources.
The survey includes a
series of 10 questions
regarding the vision, mis-
sion and priorities to deter-
mine whether or not the
Multi -Year Strategic Plan
still meets the needs of
Bluewater District School
Board. There is also a short
video to welcome partici-
pants to the survey.
"School boards are
encouraged to review their
strategic plans on a cyclical
basis to ensure that all
stakeholders are commit-
ted to the same path in
order to support the suc-
cess and well-being of all
students. We hope that
many parents/guardians,
students, staff and commu-
nity members will come
forward to participate in
our survey," says Director of
Education Steve Blake.
Recommended next
steps for the Multi -Year
Strategic Plan will be pre-
sented to the Board of
Trustees in June 2015 fol-
lowing an analysis by staff
of the survey feedback.
