Dee Graham, owner of DL
Farms Alpacas led the tour
and answered questions
when the Lucknow Sepoy
Ranees visited on July 17.
The tour began with a les-
son on alpacas, followed by a
walk into the pasture to meet
and pet the animals. Alpacas
are very gentle. Graham
reports that they are one of
the easiest and agreeable
type of livestock to raise and
work with.
The tour continued in the
house where the wool is
cleaned, processed and
made into several products
for sale on the market. Gra-
ham had set out a variety of
the fashions they sell. The
wool is very strong and also
very warm to wear, which
makes it a popular choice for
outerwear, socks, other gar-
ments and accessories such
as purses.
The Lucknow Sepoy
Ranees had other stops on
their mystery tour. For the
full story, see Ruth Dobren-
sky's column, Lucknow
News, on page 4.
There were some baby alpacas in the field of DL Farms Alpacas on July 17, 2015. All of the alpacas present are females. There are
different natural colours of their wool.
