No it's not Randy Carlyle telling you he got fired as the head coach of the Leafs (he needs work) it's another player saying they are coming for crokinole at Laneys on Saturday. Seventeen players of various shooting talents came ready to do battle on Saturday, January 17, 2015, for 10 games of this recreational pro- gressive sport. A first time player to Teeswater, Wendy Tanner from Pais- ley was welcomed. Crokinole is always fun at this level and we all know groundhog day is February 2nd but we wonder who woke up Al Carter as he stunned all players with his sizzling shooting. The results were as follows: High Man Al Carter 55 points, Peter Carter 2nd place with 47, Neil Cook with 45 and Clare Kuepfer with 43 points. In the twenties section Al again claimed high with an amazing 54, Clare shot 41, Neil 39 and Peter captured 4th with 35. Great shooting Al. When it came to the ladies they also were out strutting their stuff. Jo -Ann Carter claimed high spot with 48, Cathy Kuepfer 47, Helen Zettler and Janet Diebel tied for third with 44 and Carol Cook tal- lied 40. As with the men for the twenties one of the ladies Helen Zettler claimed first with outstand- ing shots sinking 46 centres. Just great! Jo -Ann had 30, Sarah Mason 29 while Cathy Kuepfer and Marilyn Thompson shared 4th spot with 27. Two young gentlemen (sledders) from the Lucknow area (Dickie & Simp- son) graciously drew our door prizes, with the following winners, Francis and Eugenia Zettler, Neil and Carol Cook while Marilyn Thompson claimed the 5th prize. What a great way to spend a Satur- day afternoon. The next competi- tion at Laneys is Saturday, February 7th at 1:30 p.m. Why not join us you will not be disappointed with the friendly atmosphere. flURON COUN'ry REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENTS PRE -CONSULTATION ON PROPOSED HURON COUNTY OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 4 The County of Huron has initiated Official Plan Amendment No. 4 to the County of Huron Official Plan under Sections 17 and 21 of the Planning Act.
