The Lucknow Sentinel, 2015-02-18, Page 1010 Lucknow Sentinel • Wednesday, February 18, 2015 Carter's Crokinole Report Peter Carter Eighteen enthusiastic crokinole shooters came to Laney's on Saturday, February 7, 2015 to enjoy an afternoon of play. The attendees range in age from 20 to 87 and our group is most happy about that. We are always getting new players attending for the first time and we welcomed Lorne Howe - he did well. Results at the end of the day were Men's High - Neil Cook with 62 points, Robert Bonnett with 58, Ken Hawk- ins and Peter Carter tied with 53 for 3rd and Clare Kuepfer was 4th with 46 points. Clare topped the 20's score with 47, Robert had 46, Neil was 3rd with 44 and Al Carter had 39 for 4th. The High Lady was Mari- lyn Thompson with 46 points, Jo -Ann Carter claimed 2nd place with 40, Cathy Kuepfer had 39 for 3rd place and 4th was a tie between Sarah Mason and Doreen Sulkye with 38 points. Cathy was high with the 20's count 39, Marilyn had 31, Jo -Ann with 21 and Sarah shot 17. Two free dinners were won by Carol Cook and Edna Zettler. Door prizes were claimed by Doreen Sulkye and Clare Kuepfer. Our next crokinole in Teeswater is scheduled for Saturday, February 21,2015 at 1:30 p.m. and we already know there will be a new player coming all the way from Kitchener to join us for the first time. In other crokinole news, Neil, Clare, Sarah, Carol and Jo -Ann attended the Golden Horseshoe Tourna- ment on Sat. Jan. 31st sponsored by the Hamilton `Hammers' and Toronto Crokinole Clubs with 44 players in attendance. Con- gratulations to Clare Kuep- fer who placed 4th in Pool "B" Jo -Ann Carter who played in the flight "C" finals and came home with the 2nd place certificate and cash after loosing to a Kitchener player. Peter stayed behind as he was committed to walk in the `Walk for Memories' at F E Madill School in Wingham as he was successful in col- lecting pledges of $7,010.00 for the Huron County Alz- heimer Society.
