Mary Anne Kukoly
Purple Grove News
To our faithful readers
and to everyone, we wish
you a very blessed Christ-
mas and holiday season cel-
ebrating the birth of our
Saviour.
Thank you everyone for
the great Christmas lights
and displays in Purple
Grove, Ripley, Lucknow,
Kincardine and all points in
between. What a delightful
time of year to tour around
the countryside. To have
such good roads is a huge
bonus. Please don't forget
folks that school is out for
the next two weeks and
there will be lots of excited
youngsters out and about.
There have been so many
wonderful musical evenings
in our area. Folks from here
enjoyed the Harp and Holly
concert on Thursday even-
ing in Kincardine, also the
Messiah performance in
Kincardine, and the musical
evening at Knox Presbyte-
rian Church in Ripley Sun-
day night.
Among the Christmas Eve
services being held is the
service at the Kinlough
Presbyterian Church at 8
p.m.; St Andrews United
Church in Ripley and vari-
ous churches in Kincardine
and Lucknow.
Fran and Jim Farrell
recently enjoyed a trip to
Manitoba. They visited with
Chris, Monty, Tyson and
Cooper Vandesype. The
weather was great, the roads
good and only got cold and
snowy the last couple of
days. When they left Winni-
peg it was -18 degrees C and
came home to a balmy -2
degrees C. Manitoba is also
having an unusually warm
December.
Family Christmas gather-
ings include the Boyle
Christmas at Purple Grove
Community Centre on Sun-
day. Shirley and Doug Mac-
Donald were part of the
Jean & John MacDonald
family gathering held at
Donna and Perry Elliott's on
Saturday.
Our sincere sympathy is
sent to the family of
Donelda Pollard and to Fern
MacDonald formerly of
Lucknow.

can Hawthorne, Bruce
Power president and CEO.
"The reliability of these
units - especially those at
Bruce A, which have been
returned to service over the
past decade - proves reac-
tors that undergo signifi-
cant investment in refur-
bishment and component

do an excellent job
of providing consistent,

province."
This year, Bruce Power
invested about $400 million
in planned maintenance
outages which supported
the strong operational per-
formance of the site.
Next year is expected to
be another record output

provided reliable and flexi-
ble generation when
needed, in 2015.
