Lucknow Lancers welcome young
players during minor hockey night
Ean Moffatt
Lucknow Lancers
The Lucknow Lancers have
been playing good hockey
lately but unfortunately have
not got the results to show for
their efforts.
The boys played an excel-
lent game against Ripley on
the teams annual Minor
Hockey Night. The team
would like to recognize all
the tyke and initiation play-
ers (future Lancers and Leg-
ends) who played during
the first intermission. It was
great to see all the minor
hockey players in the stands
wearing their favourite
jerseys.
Special recognition to
Sepoy Catering who cooked
up some very tasty wings
for everyone to enjoy
throughout the night.
Lancer Alumni night is
Friday Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
when the Lancers take on
!Frill!! 4135T
the Durham Thundercats.
There is no Alumni game
this year but it is a chance
for former Lancer players
to catch up with each
other, and all former play-
ers get free admission into
the game. Sepoy Catering
will be up stairs cooking
food on Dec. 19 also. Fans
are encouraged to wear
their best Christmas
sweaters as the players will
be getting into the festive
spirit when they display
the passion of the holiday
season after the game
upstairs.
Hope to see everyone out
on the 19th.
Lucknow Legends doing
well over recent games
By Missy Kuik
On Dec. 5 the Lucknow Legends took
on Lambton which resulted in a 4-2 loss.
The first goal was Katie Feagan from
Justine Hart and Gina Murray. The sec-
ond was set up by Marrissa Jolley and
Murray for Marlee Alton.
Sunday Dec. 6 was a 5-1 win over Mil-
verton. Margaret Vincent opened up the
scoring from Ashlin Mann and Diane
Bushell. The second goal was Feagan
from Vincent and Laura Stanley. Julie
Hamilton was set up by Mann, and Cait-
lin Hamilton would score unassisted. The
final goal went to Murray from Stanley.
This past weekend the Legends went to
visit Milverton. They got a quick lead with
goals from Julie Hamilton and Maggie
Young, assisted by Stanley And Caitlin
Hamilton. Dru Austin would add to the
scoreboard from a pass from Julie Hamil-
ton, and Missy Kuik would wrap up the
scoring with an unassisted goal for a 4-2
win.
