Darryl Coote/Lucknow Sentinel
Lucknow Central Public School (LCPS) held its Christmas Concert at the school last week, with a variety of presentations, songs and costumes by hard-working students. Students were suited up in
holiday attire, showing off the spirit of the season with smiles and enthusiasm.
Lucknow 'Paying it Forward' at Pinecrest

Kincardine News
It doesn't take much to
do a whole lot of good.
That's the message I
took away from my early
December meeting with
Stacey Van Leerzem, the
organizer of the Lucknow
Pay it Forward campaign
to benefit those at the
Pinecrest Manor, a local
long-term care facility.
The program is simple
enough: Until Dec. 22
people can donate goods,
such as books, puzzles,
blankets, pajamas and so
forth, by dropping them
off at the Lucknow Travel
TPI. From there, Van
Leerzem will pick up the
items, sort them and then
deliver the gifts to
Pinecrest.
"It's just helping out,"
she said from her home. "I
have a busy life. I run a
daycare. I have my own
three kids. I have foster
kids. It's just something to
pay it forward to someone
else."
This is the second year
she has organized the Pay
it Forward drive after hav-
ing seen someone adver-
tise a similar program on
Facebook a few years ago
for the city of Sarnia.
She saw the post and
thought that she could do
something comparable for
those who many be with-
out family here.
