Tanya Ferguson, a candle and soapmaker who had a table at the crafts show, said she wholly supports the initia- tive behind the event. "It's important," she said. "If we don't have this we don't have the community centre to do the dances they do for the youth groups, the baseball, the ice rink, that kind of stuff." COUNTY OF BRUCE AND TOWNSHIP OF HURON-KINLOSS MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT WEST LUCKNOW STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT The Study: The County of Bruce and Township of Huron -Kinloss are initiating a study to investigate solutions for improving stormwater drainage along Campbell Street, west of Ross Street in Lucknow. This investigation is being undertaken in conjunction with the County's proposed rehabilitation of Campbell Street from Havelock Street to Montgomery Lane, and reconstruction west of Montgomery Lane. The study will investigate alternative stormwater routing solutions along Campbell Street to improve the drainage and allow for the proposed reconstruction of the street. This study is being planned under Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process. Public Input: Public input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the planning and design of this study. For the initial phase of the study, public input will be received until January 4, 2016. The date of a public information meeting will be provided in a future notice. Lucknow UCW meets for annual meeting A total of 50 Lucknow UCW members were served a deli- cious turkey dinner with spe- cial guests, by seven men of the congregation. The meal was prepared by Elaine Steer and her helpers. Sunday Sunshine accompa- nied by Anne Pritchard enter- tained with several songs and carols. Barb Hogan, chair of Huron County Christmas Bureau was the guest speaker. Her volun- teers' mission is to make Christmas a positive experi- ence, especially for over 1000 children and nearly 500 fami- lies. The Bureau is working out of five churches in five com- munities. A bag of items was given for her to take for the distribution. Two Christmas carols were sung and Glenda Morrison read the scripture from Matthew. President Elaine led in a memorial service for those we have lost in the past and mem- bers we have lost this year. Diane Henderson gave the treasurer's report. The recom- mendations for renovations inside and outside the church building, and further dona- tions to M&S and the General Fund were approved. Social Functions have had many catering events this year. Nimble Fingers have made many quilts, comfort blankets and other items; some Bazaar items are still for sale. New cupboards in the quilting room in memory of Mae Hunter and in the pie room in memory of Susan Alton are very much appreciated for storage. Community Friend- ship visits 14 people for birth- days and Christmas. Special Occasions remember those over 90 and having special anniversaries. The meeting closed with Silent Night. Elaine was thanked for her leadership as President and the meeting was turned over to new President, Glenda Morrison.
