Grey Bruce is now accept-
ing online applications
from qualified non-profit
organizations and charities
across Grey and Bruce
Counties for project and
program grants up to
$5,000. The deadline to
complete an application is
September 30.
The focus for this fall
grant intake will be con-
centrated mainly on sup-
port of disadvantaged chil-
dren and families. As well,
modest funding is availa-
ble to support minor
sports in the smaller
communities outside of
Owen Sound and for the
improvement of women's
health in Grey and Bruce
Counties.
Grants are intended to
support unique projects
and programs to improve
the quality of life for citi-
zens in Grey and Bruce but

port general operating
costs of the not-for-profit
sector. Applicants are
encouraged to contact the
Grants Coordinator by
phone prior to submitting
an application to seek

crokinole players enjoyed an
evening of competition on
Wednesday, August 5 at the
Scone School House.
At the end of the night
Neil Cook took top score
for the men with 45 points,
Clare Kuepfer placed sec-
ond with 41 and Carman
Hodgkinson placed third
with 36. Neil also placed
first in the twenties cate-
gory with 37, Clare was
second with 33 and Win-
ston Riley had 31 for third

The Township of Huron -Kinloss is one of several communities
in the early stages of learning about Adaptive Phased
Management (APM), Canada's plan for the safe, long-term
management of used nuclear fuel. The Nuclear Waste
Management Organization is working collaboratively with the
community to advance preliminary assessment studies.
If you would like to learn about APM, meet NWMO staff, ask
questions or offer your thoughts, please drop in to the NWMO
community office and Learn More Centre in Ripley.

Lucknow men's slo pitch all-
star game had exciting finish

The 2015 All-Star game for
Lucknow Men's Slo Pitch
League had two teams
formed from players from
each of the teams in the
league. The game was played
on August 6 at the Lucknow
Sports Complex. It was
decided to name the teams
after the coaches.
It was a thrilling game
with an exciting ending that
saw Team Cranston defeat
Team McDonagh with at
score of 15-14. The MVP for
the game was AJ Beasley of
Team Cranston.
The evening ended with
fun at the Lucknow Legion.
The league sends out a
special thank you to Son &
Pop Auto Shop, Village Piz-
zeria and Mary's Restau-
rant for the sponsorship of
prizes.
