Ontario the day beforehand
causing much damage in
the village, itself. Fortu-
nately the tents could be
erected again and the show
could go on.
The show was well
attended as 157 exhibitors
from 14 counties vied for
the top two places in 9
classes for showmanship
and the animals plus other
specialty awards. Members
competed from the counties
of Perth, Lambton,
Chatham -Kent, Grey, Bruce,
Huron, Wellington,
Waterloo, Middlesex, Brant,
Oxford, Essex, Dufferin and
Elgin.
The judge for the day
was Stephanie Warner -
Murphy of Hastings,
Ontario.
More was going on than
just the competitions.
Exhibitors, along with their
families and supporters
learned about different
ways dairy farming is done,
such as the speakers on
Norwegian dairy farming,
as well as there being ven-
dors of related products on
site.
A benefit to the 4-H
members, themselves, is
the opportunity to learn
from, mentor and befriend
exhibitors and their sup-
porters from other clubs
whom they may not have
otherwise had the chance
to meet.
The Lucknow 4-H Dairy
Invitational Show committee
would like to thank the
exhibitors, sponsors, volun-
teers and anyone else who
made this event the success
it was.
