The April meeting of Pur-
ple Grove WI was held at
the home of Wilma Sutton.
The gathering started with
the recipients of the
Ontario Volunteer Awards
from 2014 and 2015 sharing
memories. It also included
presentation of the certifi-
cates to Maureen Collins,
Joyce Farrell and Marilyn
Reid. They had not been
able to attend the formal
presentation in Stratford. A
fun time.
The roll call was fees for
the new year. We are
pleased to welcome Chris-
tine Roberts into the fold.
Mary Anne Kukoly gave
the Scripture based on the
Biblical 911. Cheryl Bridge
gave an interesting report
on the District Directors
meeting. We made dona-
tions to the Ripley Reun-
ion committee and to the
Roots of Bruce -a wonder-
ful program for educating
children about
agriculture.
A community shower is
planned on Saturday after-
noon May 9th for Sarah Wray
(fiance of Glen Farrell) at the

Centre.

The Community Founda-
tion of Grey Bruce is pleased
to announce that its search
for a Project Manager for its
new Vital Signs project has
come to a successful conclu-
sion. Watson & Associates, a
consulting firm from Missis-
sauga, Ontario, has been
awarded the contract. Jack
Ammendiola and Emily
Hazell will be representing
the firm for the duration of
the project.
Community Foundation
Grey Bruce, a public charity,
generates long-term sustain-
able resources through
donations for the creation or
growth of endowed funds.
The earned revenue from the
pooled, invested funds is
granted to not-for-profit
organizations throughout
Grey Bruce, supporting the
widest range of organiza-
tions and initiatives possible
through community giving.
Vital Signs is a national
initiative undertaken by
Community Foundations
across Canada. The report
highlights and comments on
a number of quality of life
indicators that measure and
grade the vitality of each
community, leading to the
identification of significant
social and economic trends.
Through a combination of
data review and comparative
analysis, Vital Signs is a tool
for aligning community
goal -setting, for promoting
civic engagement and dia-
logue, and for measuring
collective community
well-being.
Of the six proposals that
the Foundation received,
Watson & Associate's out-
standing references gar-
nered from recent successful
local contracts and their
knowledge of the region set
them apart. The firm's
proven expertise in data
analysis assured the Foun-
dation's Vital Signs selection
committee that they were
the most appropriate firm to
support CFGB's first Vital
Signs project.
"We look forward to work-
ing with the Foundation on
this exciting and important
project, and trust that our
experience in data collection
and analysis can result in a
successful outcome and
informative product," said
Jack Ammendiola of Watson
& Associates.
