The Easter Thank offering meeting started with lunch being served to 18 peo- ple including guests from Ripley WMS and the Angli- can Lucknow ladies. Our guest speakers were Ken and Nancy Craig of Kin- cardine. They enjoyed three trips to Haiti and planning their fourth trip with the Hai- tian Christian Ministry. Haiti is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the ocean is on the fourth side. They get into the back of a small Toyota truck to travel. The houses are built with mud and sticks. Their team goes over there to paint and help build furniture. They carry water in pails on their heads. They wash their clothes in the rivers and drink out of the river. It is very hot, 80-90 degrees. UP in the mountains is where the "poor of the poor" live. They have cell phones. The Chris- tians are higher amounts than in Canada. The roads are not in very good shape but they told us since they have been going over there, the government has changed so there are now bet- ter roads. All the children go to school but the best news is that people sponsor the children to go to school with $25 per month. That $25 per month is given to that child until we stop sending it to that child. Then we carried on with our WMS meeting taken from the Glad Tidings Easter Worship. Marilynne read the Call to Worship. We sang the hymn "Christ the Lord is Risen Today': The ladies took turns reading the Scripture readings. The closing prayer was said in unison. Then Presi- dent Kathy Howald read an Easter reading. Marilyn Mac- Intyre read last month's minutes. The hymn "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" was sung. The roll call was answered by tell- ing and Easter verse or poem, or an Easter memory. Ruth read the offertory prayer. The Spring Rally is being held at the Presbyterian Church in Brussels on May 12, 2015. Ruth read the Benediction. Kathy closed the evening with a closing prayer. LET'S ALL DO OUR PART!
