The Corporation of the Township of
Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Requires a
Deputy -Clerk
The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is accepting applications for the position
of Deputy -Clerk due to an upcoming retirement, and reporting directly to the
Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Administration of the municipally owned water works systems
• Acts as the Returning Officer and responsible for the preparation and management
of the Municipal Election process
• Acts as the Division Registrar, and Lottery Licensing Officer
• Maintains and updates the municipally owned Cemetery records
• Acts as the Planning Co-ordinator, and Drainage Co-ordinator
• Works and coordinates with the By -Law Enforcement and Animal Control Officer
• Administers the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
• Coordinates the Municipalities accessibility initiatives
• Provides secretarial duties to various Boards
• Other various duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Five years related work experience, in a municipal environment
• Good computer and record management skills
• Knowledge of the Municipal Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and
Protection of Privacy Act, Municipal Elections Act, Ontarians with Disablities Act,
Planning Act, Drainage Act, and other relevant legislation
• Ability to deal effectively, courteously, and tactfully with the general public
• Well-developed oral and communication skills, writing skills, and
organizational skills
