"iAdopt for Spring" campaign
Ontario SPCA
Huron County
Branch
Submitted
Goderich, ON (April 2,
2015) - The Ontario SPCA
Huron County Branch invites
you to drop in to the shelter
to Meet Your Match®during
their "iAdopt for Spring"
adoption campaign.
iAdopt for Spring will run
for the month of April at
Ontario SPCA branches
across the province with the
goal of getting as many ani-
mals as possible placed into
loving forever homes during
the spring season.
You could be gazing at the
animal of your dreams, but
you just can't tell what she's
thinking behind that furry
face. What if you knew a little
something about her per-
sonality and habits before
you moved in together? The
Ontario SPCA Huron County
Branch Meet Your Match
program, adopted from the
ASPCA, wouldn't let you go
home without knowing
who's in that carrier or on
that leash.
The Ontario SPCA Huron
County Branch encourages
you to take the Meet Your
Match' adopter survey
before going into the shelter.
The survey will give you a
color based on your prefer-
ences and lifestyle. On your
visit to Ontario SPCA Huron
County, you're given a pur-
ple, orange or green guest
pass to match with the pets
that might suit you best. You
don't always have to go with
your own color, but at least
you'll know who you're mix-
ing with!
"We're very excited that
the warmer weather is finally
on its way! It's a great time to
Meet Your Match and bring a
new companion and forever
friend into your home," says
Tamara Minns, Branch
Coordinator. "Visit the
Ontario SPCA Huron County
Branch to take part in iAdopt
for Spring!"

For many people, the
urge to get out and dig in
the garden is a sure sign
spring is in the air. Are you
feeling the "gardening
itch"? Tired of growing the
same old flowers and vege-
tables? Want to learn new
techniques or try some new
seeds and plants? What
better way to get started
than to attend the Bruce
County Public Library's
third annual Seedy Satur-
day on April 11.
Seedy Saturday is pri-
marily a seed exchange
event that occurs in early
spring in communities
across North America. The
Library invites gardeners of
all ages to bring in saved or
extra seeds from their gar-
dens to exchange them
with other gardeners in
their community. Partici-

Services Librarian.
The winning entry was
submitted by Natalie Walker,
age 8, from Exeter. She cre-
ated Bob the Book, whose
tagline is "Join the Adven-
ture". Natalie wrote a very
thoughtful background story
that accompanied her
submission.
"A boy named Bob went to
the library and found an
interesting book about
becoming a super hero. Then,
he found another book that
explained that children do
not read enough. He had a
BIG IDEA!!! The boy thought
he could become a super
hero book that delivers books
to children.
He borrowed the super
hero book from the library
and read it over and over.
That taught Bob how to fly,
how to take kids into the
book's adventures and show
the kids what it was like for
the people in the stories. The
kids learn a lesson and they
have fun on the way. Bob has
fun too but he knows there
are still lots of kids left to go.
So now, Bob has a secret
power boost that helps him
deliver more books to the
world!!!"
Runners up were Abby
Horton, age 9 and Shannon
Squire, age 14. The winning
entry received a $50 iTunes
gift card and the runners up
each received a one year
Museum membership.
The results of the contest
were announced on Interna-
tional Children's Book Day,
April 2 on the library's Face -
book page. There is also an
album of all the mascot sub-
missions on posted to the
library's Facebook page.
