NITURE REFINISHING - with
Harvey Beuerman will continue in
the new year. This program will
give the participant techniques on
stripping old paint off your fur-
niture, and refinishing it to look like
new. Start date: Monday, January 7,
1991; Time: 7 to 9 p.m.; Place:
Seaforth High School - Shop Room;
Cost: $37.50 for 10 weeks - G.S.T.

BALLROOM DANCING - with
Lou and Melanie Morello will
begin on Tuesday evenings at the
Community Centres. This program
is for couples who would like to
learn how to dance more gracefully
together, or would just like an
evening out to socialize and dance.

SELF DEFENSE FOR
FEMALES - Chuck Hasson will
guide all ladies through this tight
week program on escape and
protccuon techniques. This program
is specifically designed for women
wanting to better protect themselves

RECREATIONAL BADMINTON

Thursday night bowling race tightens
For the second consecutive week
the Pink Panthers were the hottest
team on the Alleys last Thursday.
But like all the teams this week, the
team was unable to record a three
game sweep. Erich Matzold was
both the team and the league's top
bowler with a 273/727 performance.
Doug Leonhardt rolled 270/654 and
Pat Ryan had 231/568, good enough
for five of seven points.
On the losing side was the first
place Simpsons, who did manage to
win the last game. Leading the
team was Dave Moody with
282/669, Doug Procter eh*
249/648, Debbie Bedard with a big
268 game and Mark McKellar with
a 226.

the Ninja Turtles took two games
from the Rocky Rollers but lost
total pins by seven with every game
extremely close. Leading the
Turtles was Gary Bedard with
292/716, Don Deighton 256/659,
Carol Bennewies 275 and Janet
Moody 199.
The Rocky Rollers were paced by
Doug Vock's 267/616 performance.
Brian Dale had a super 223. The
combined effort won the team one
game and three points.
In the final match last place Four
Plus Two knocked off the third
place Behinders but only by a 4 - 3
score, with two games won. Gerry
Armstrong had 281/684, John
Aubin 200, Tom McKay 229/574
and Janice Leotihardt 202 to round
out the team performance.
The Behinders scored a big
second game win to carry them to
total pins for three points. Leading
the team were Karl Teichert with
255/668, Dan Bennewies 260/660,
Mel Mercian 234 and Steve Steep
228.
This week has second place
Rocky Rollers challenging first
place Simpsons, fourth place Ninja
Turtles vs last place Four Plus Two
and the third place Behinders vs
fifth place but hot, Pink Panthers.
Eagles remain in first
Murray Bennewies led the Eagles
to a seven point win over the
Peacocks with a 325 - 787, fol-
lowed by Gordon Murray 212 - 595
and Pailine Weigel 211 - 542.
Top scorers for the Peacockes
were Harry Den Haan 235 - 610
and Rob Taylor 206 - 539.
The Buzzards also took seven
points from the Vultures led by
Cathy Broome 275 - 764 and Jack
Ryan 225 - 613 followed by Dave
Moody 219 - 577.
The Orioles led by George Love's
269 - 752 gained seven points this
week keeping them in second place.
