Mr. and Mrs. J, A. Jackson and baby
left last week for their home in Ponoka,
Alberta.
Mr. Maurice Smeltzer, of Stratbcona,
Alberta, is at present renewing the ac-
quaintance of old friends in Blyth and
vicinity.
Mrs. James Barr died Wednesday
afternoon of last week after several
mouths illness with dancer of the stom-
ach. To the bereaved family we extend
our sympathy.
Mr. E. 0 Wilford, who is attending
Toronto medical college, has been elected
one of the delegates to the big conven-
tion of the Student Volunteer Movement
at Nashville, Tennesee.
This year's Blyth fair will be held on
Tuesday and Wednesday, September
18th and 19th. These dates will be three
weeks earlier than the fair has been held
for several years past, and will follow
immediately after the London fair. The
cold, wet weather that usually accom-
panies Blyth fair is what caused the
directors to change to earlier dates.

The next meeting of the Township
Council will be held ou Monday, March
12th.

Sydney, sou of James Bolger, 8th line,

mouths from a trouble in his right knee,
caused by a twist in playing a game of
ball in Manitoba is improving, but is
still under the doctor's care. The dis-
abled limb was operated upon at the
Winnipeg hospital. We hope he will
soon be o. k.
The council met according to adjourn-
ment, on Feb. 5th, members all present,
the Reeve in the chair. Minutes of last
meeting read and passed. The Auditors
report was presented and examined by
the Council.
On motion of Campbell and Youill,
the said report was accepted as satisfac-
tory.

was appointed Medical Health Officer
for the current year.

was appointed fence viewer iu place of

In Grey township in 1905 the vital
statistics were 82 births, 29 marriages
and 45 deaths.
The wife of D. Carson, of lot 23, Con.
7, died ou Saturday, 27th ult. She was
a victim of consumption. Interment
took place in Elmo Centre cemetery.
Thos. Davidson sold a heavy draught
mare to Jas Archibald, of Seaforth, for
the tidy figure of $200. She was a fine
mare and good value at that money.
Owen Bell, who left Grey over 20
years ago for the West, is visiting rela.
tives and friends. He is the oldest son
of Robert Bell, 3rd con. Mr. Bell has
'net with success in Manitoba.
Will. McKay, who has been in the
States for four years, has returned home.
He is renewing oldz-friendships around
Moaerieif. \Viii. is looking well and
the country must certainly agree with
him.
The 100 acre farm of Albert Carter,llth
con., has beeu leased to Thomas Lear-
mont, of Brussels, for a three year term.
Possession to be given on March 1st. Mr.
Carter iutends taking a trip to the West
and in Saskatoon locality will take up
land for his sons. Mrs Darter will re-
main on the farm in the meantime.

tion on Sunday for an abcess and is
doing as well as can be expected at
time of writing.
