Veterans benefits available
We forgot to mention last week
what happened to the four sonans of
euchre players that participated in
the Zone euchre in Lucknow. Out
of the four teams none won enough
games to go on to the District level.
We still keep hearing stories of
Veterans who are qualified for
benefits but never applied. Some
are living far below the poverty
line. If anyone knows of such a
Veteran pleas have him or her get
in touch with the Legion Service
Officer. There are many benefits for
Veterans including spouses of
Veterans. Widows are getting
increased benefits every year
through the Department of Veterans
Affairs.
The Legion is sorry it had to
cancel the Monday afternoon card
game this week owing to the
Auxiliary catering to a funeral
lunch. Cards will be played again
Monday afternoon at the usual time.
The next stag euchre will be next
Wednesday, December 12 at 8 p.m.
Cribbage is played every Monday
evening.
7h>ere is still time and room for
mare Dart players to play on Satur-
day afternoons at 2 p.m. This Satur-
day two teams of Dart players will
be competing in Brussels in the
Zone team darts. We wish them
well.
With the Christmas concert for
the members children less than a
month away, we hope there are
some singers, recitations and dan-
cers etc. who will perform for the
concert. Please let Barbara Scott
know as soon as possible.(527-
