Seaforth Peewees tie Mitchell 7-7
the Seaforth Pee Wees were back
on the road again after an unsuc-
cessful weekend in the Harriston
Tournament. They were on their
way back home after being defeated
3 - 1 by Wingham the first game
and then 4 - 2 in the second game
by the Host Team o the tournament
(Harriston-Palmerson-Minto).
Tuesday night they travelled to
Mitchell and started the scoring
three minutes into the game. Jason
Henderson put a backhanded shot
into the net on a nice pass out of
the corner from Mike Hugill. With
only one goalie for this game he
knew he had to be sharp the whole
game and that he was! Chad
Lamont played a great game
making one save after another to
keep this team alive in the fist.
There was lots of back and forth
action and it wasn't until they were
six minutes into the second period
that another goal was scored, but
this time it was Mitchell's turn.
Mitchell scored three unanswered
goals therefore ending the second
period with a score of 3 - 1 for the
home team.
It took until the 6:30 mark of the
third period for Seaforth to score,
but they finally came within one
goal of the opposition on a goal by
Jason Murray assisted by Steve

Mitchell had a two goal lead once
again. With only two minutes left in
the game and Mitchell leading by

Centenaires tie Bulldogs in game
The Seaforth Centenaires went for
the net with gusto but left their
defence on the bus Saturday night
at Mt. Brydges. Fans got their
money's worth in action though, as
they came back from a late two
goal deficit then hit the post at the
buzzer in overtime, and a welcome
end to a five game tailspin.
The weekend points leave
Seaforth tied for fourth in the nine
team division with 15 points from
five wins, three ties and 10 losses,
two in overtime. The team travels
to Mitchell to play the dreaded
Hawks in its next start Friday night
at 8:30.
"No defence," described Saturday
night's shootout according to
Seaforth starting goalteender Bill
Tremeer. "It was just like tennis."
He gave up a soft goal then pulled
himself because he wasn't feeling
well. Dana Duskocy finished, and
gave up a couple of soft ones too.
"I played awful," he said later.
Centenaire coach Bob Zimmer was
more charitable. He says Duskocy
expected to backup so wasn't men-
tally ready, especially coming in the
game so early, barely past the
midway point of the fiat period.
Blair Beuermann, Kory Dietz and
Don Scott, a new face who comes
to the Centenaires from Stratford
via Woodstock, each scored a pair
of goals. Scott was also the shooter
who hit the post at the buzzer in
OT. Dann Wildfong and Mike
Watt added single goals as the two
teams were tied 4-4afterthefirst
period and 5 - 5 after the second.
Seaforth trailed 8 - 6 with 6:58 left
to play but Beuermann got one then
Scott got the equalizer with 4:14
left in the game. Beuermann also
scored throe assists in the game to
make it a five point night. and Ted
Sills had a pair, with single assists
contributed by Steve and Brad
Schroeder, Paul McLlwain, Karsten
Carroll, Jason Dietz, Wildfong and
Watt
Watt was in high gear Friday
night against Alvinston at the
Seaforth, scoring his first hat trick
as a Centenaire, and Duskocy was
also at his cool and combative best,
keeping the score close early, as the
locals got the monkey of a five
game losing steak off their back
with a solid effort. Jason
Schoonderwoerd Beuermann and
Wildfong also scared for the Cen-
tenaires, who trailed 1 - 0 after the
first but took a 3 - 1 lead into the
final period. Schoondeiwoerd, Jeff
Gemmell and Scott each chipped in
a couple of assists, while other
goals were set up by Kevin
McLlwain, Darren Akey, Beuer-
mann, Kory Dietz and Watt
