Food, clothing drive on again
A food and clothing dove for the needy, is again being conducted m
the Town of Seaforth, by David Staffeu. Mr. Staffens, who first
unnpllc cited the drive three years ago, has distributed a number of
boxes to area sures, and will also be prepanng a float for the
Santa Claus parade, December 7.
Mr. Steffens says the drive has grown in recent years, and says he
hopes it will do even better this year. During this holiday season he
encourages everyone to think of their less fortunate neighbors this year,
and to contribute. Donations of canned goods, clothing angor toys can
be placed in marked boxes in area businesses, or brought along to the
Santa Claus parade.
Please be generous.

Key word missing from factory story
An article which appeared in
conjunction with the Council Briefs
of November 21, 1990, contained a
serious typing error.
The Seaforth Springs factory has
closed, but unhappily. Unlike the
quote which appeared in the article,
which said he has "never been
impressed", Tony Wallbank was
extremely impressed by the Town
of Seaforth and its inhabitants. The
key word of "so" was missing from
the phrase.
"We're really not happy about
closing down," Mr. Wallbank added
last week. "Everyone's been en-
thusiastic, and it's too bad the
economy is in such a poor state of
affairs."
The Springs factory had employed
just under 20 people, 11 or 12 of
them on a full time basis. Six of
those workers have taken full time
employment with the company's
Plattsville operation.
The Springs Factory building,
formerly the Genesco Shoe Factory,
is again up for sale.

Averys to entertain
The Seaforth and District Ringette
Association has been busy
finalizing plans for its family
musical Christmas concert,
scheduled for tonight November 28
at the Seaforth and District
Community Centres. Rick and Judy
Avery will be the featured
entertainers.
This family concert is expected to
be a successful fundraiser for the
ringette association, as well as a
unique experience for families
wishing to celebrate the Christmas
season together.
Rick and Judy Avery are a
husband and wife team that have
been performing professionally for
the past ten years. They accompany
themselves on a variety of musical
instruments, including, guitar,
banjo, fiddle, spoons and
limberjack. Their commitment to
traditional family values is
conveyed through the songs they
sing, the stories they tell and their
interaction with the audience.
Their songs include plenty of old
Christmas favorites, as well as
some sacred and recent seasonal
offerings. Everyone will have the
oppattuuty to sing, clap and have
fun celebrating the Christmas
season. Young and old will
date this hour of enjoyable
turas music.
Rick and Judy will also be
available to meet the audience and
autograph cassette recordings etc.
which will be for sale before and
after the concert There will be two
shows, the first at 5:30 p.m. and the
second at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket sales are steady and
available at Bob and Beuy's
Variety, Kid's Kloze, Ray's Family
Market or at the Preschool Learning
Centre. Admission price to the
concert is $5 per person in advance
or $6 at the door (if tickets still
available).
Events like this are only possible
because of the continued support of
area businesses who offer
themselves as ticket outlets.
The ringette association is also
particularly grateful to Steve
Hildebrand this year. Mr.
Hildebrand has offered to decorate
the concert hall in an appropriate
festive manor.
