Mary Finlayson has high triple in seniors alley bowling
and 588 triple. Lucky draw winners
were Bert Walters, Barb Alexander
and Beryl Reid. "Thirty seniors were
out to bowl.
Birthday Greeting were extended
to Bert Walters who celebrated his
88th birthday and rarely misses a
week of alley bowling.
THIS WEEK
Friday afternoon saw the Hondas
out doing themselves, taking seven
points from the Buicks in seniors
bowling.
Mary Finlayson had high triple
for the day with a 638 and a 264
single, only to have Annie Malcolm
bowl a 277 single. Annie has been
bowling some very good games.
INTENDED FOR LAST WEEK
The Hondas picked up seven
points last Friday to raise their team
total to 22 and now are tied with
the Datsuns. The Buicks just
managed to take two points from
the Datsun team despite Barb
Alexander's great finish on her last
game with four strikes in a row.
The Lincolns who have been minus
players to date won four points
from Anne's Chevys.
Mary Finlayson had high single
with 231 and 578 triple while Ann
Wood again had high triple with
594 and 214 single. Charlie Perkins
had men's high single with 224
while Ron Bennett had a 210 single

The Seaforth Novice hockey team
participated in the Glencoe tour-
nament this past weekend.
The Novice team fust played a
team from Beaton. Seaforth and
Beaton were fairly evenly matched
and the first period got off to a
close checking start. Seaforth was
first to score on a goal by Derek
Nesbiu assisted by Steve Philips
and Jared Carnelian at 8:51 of the
first. Seaforth would score again
just 45 seconds in to the second on
another goal by Derck Nesbiu with
Jason Arisen drawing the only
assist on the goal. Beeton would
come alive now with two goals of
its own only 1:15 apart, to tie the
score at two. The two teams were
notched at two until Derek Nesbitt
completed his hat trick at 7:37 on a
solo effort. This goal would stand
to be the winner as Seaforth added
two more goals and was on to the
next game versus Mr Brydges.
Scoring for Seaforth were Ryan
Van Dooren and Jason Anstett.
Drawing assists were Rob Spinal,
Derek Nesbitt, and Curtis Murray.
At 3:30 that same day Seaforth
would hit the ice for its second
game in less than five hours. This
would play a major part in this
second game. Mt. Brydges was fust
to hit the score sheet at :29 of the
second period. Mt. Brydges would
strike once more at 1:28 of the
second period. Mr. Brydges would

penetrated the Mt. Brydges defence
and cut the lead in half. Assisting
on the play was Derek Nesbitt.
Mt.Brydges then struck for two
more, taking a commanding 4 - 1
lead just past the half way mark of
the game. Before the second was
over Seaforth would notch two
before falling victim to weary legs.
Scoring were Ryan Van Dooren and
Daniel Nash. Assists went to Ryan
Van Dooren.
The third period was ani Mt.
Brydges, as they peppered the
Seaforth net and scored five
unanswered goals. Seaforth showed
pride and class as they kept
working despite the score and was
rewarded with one final goal by
Ryan Van Dooren assisted by Steve
Phillips and Jason Anstett. Mt.
Brydges would go on to win the
tournament, defeating Dresden 4 - 1
in the championship game.
The 13th Annual Novice Tour-
nament takes place this coming
weekend with the "A" teams com-
peting on Saturday, and the "B"
teams competing on Sunday.
Seaforth plays Wingham at 12:15
on Sunday.
Atom Is record two wins this week
The Seaforth Atom I hockey team
travelled to Goderich on Thursday,
November 15 to meet Goderfch for
the first time this year, and ended
up on the winning end of a 9 - 2
game. Seaforth scored twice in the
first period, four times in the
second and three times in the third
)eriod.
Goals were scored by Mark Van
Dooren (3), Derek Smith (2), Rob-
bie Craig, Scott Van Dooren, Scott
Henderson and Ben Murray.
Assists were earned by Scott
Henderson (2), Bruce Griffin (2),
Jered Munro (2), Brandon Nash,
Robbie Craig, Pat Coyne, Jeremey
McNichol, Derek Smith and Josh
Dietz.
On Sunday afternoon Wingham
came for the first meeting of the
season also. Once again the boys
spent much of the game taking
shooting practice at the net. This
time the score was 10 - 1 for
Seaforth.
Goals were scored by Brandon
Nash (3), Ben Murray (2), Robbie
Craig, Scott Van Dooren, Jered
Munro, Derek Smith and Mark Van
Dooren.
Players receiving assists on those
goals were Bruce Griffin (3), Bran-
don Nash (2), Derek Smith (2),
Jeremy McNichol (2), Mark Van
Dooren and Jered Munro.
After two easy games the boys
have to be careful not to get over
confident. The next game, which is
in Mitchell on Thursday night,
should be more of a challenge. Be
sure to play as a team, guys. The
boys also travel to Lucan this
weekend for their second tour-
nament.
Petite Is and IIs tie in league ringette action
It was an exciting game Friday
night when the two Petite Ringette
teams squared off in their first
league game against each other.
Jane Crowley opened up the
scoring at 12:56 for Seaforth II with
her teammate Kathy Deveraux
getting the second goal at 7:42. The
Seaforth I team then got their first
goal with Denise DeJong scoring at
6:45 assisted by Janette Wood. The
remainder of the period contained
end-to-end play with each team
holding each other at bay.
Going into the second period, the
score was 2-1 for the Seaforth IIs.
Then Denise DeJong tied up the
game for the Seaforth I team by
scoring at 8:43, assisted by Erin
Siemon. Tension continued for
mount as each team applied pres-
sure. Jane Crowley, scored the tie
breaker at 8:18 for the Seaforth IIs,
assisted by Kathy Deveraux. The
Seaforth I team, now behind by one
goal, never gave up and then Abby
Dietz scored at 6:41 to tie up the
game.
Now that's excitement! Great
game by all who played.
