Legion meets local requests for donations totalling $2,500 The regular meeting of the Seaforth Legion last Thursday evaang was attended by a poor crowd of about 20 members. Re- quests for dont amounted to 52,500 and west gzanted. Anyone having Grey Cup tickets which art not be sold were asked to have them back to Gwen Har- burn this Wednesday (today) at the Legion. With only two weeks left in the Early -bird -campaign Al Nicholson urged members to get down as soon as possible and pay their dues. As of last Thursday the rid member- ship is at 68 per cent. Winners in the last Early -bird draw were Linda Kramp, Ann Wood, Jim Sills, Bill Crease and Jack Case. There is a special Executive meeting for the Branch and mem- bers of the Auxiliary Executive called for this Thursday at 8 p.m. to set dates for sports and entertain- ment etc. for the coming year. Anyone having anything for the bulletin please try to have it in then, as a bulletin will be sent to the membership. -Legion °Y `p° For tee a•.st time Seaforth had throe teams of doubles entered in the Zone date tournament at Exna last Saturday. Considering it was a fist, Seaforth faired reasonably wen. This coming Saturday Zone Euchre is being held m Lucknow with four teams from Seaforth participating. Registration is from 12 to 12:30 p.m. Don't forget euchre and Bridge at 1:30 p.m. on Mondays with Crib- bage at 8 p.m. This Saturday the entertainment commiuee is sponsoring a Beef Barbecue to be held at the Branch. The Barbecue will be held between 6 and 7 p.m. with a dance later. The Legion is also entering a float in this year's Santa Claus parade. Queensway's annual craft and bake sale a huge success Queensway's Annual Craft and Bake Sale was a huge success due to the support andcontributions for community, staff and resident's families. The weather was beautiful and residents and staff were en- couraged by the large turnout.
