At Seaforth Friday, Kory Dietz

Seaforth Novice team splits
The Seaforth Novice hockey teem
was on a two game home stand on
the weekend with two matinee
games versus Clinton and Mitchell
respectively.
On Saturday, Clinton visited the
Seaforth and District Community
Centres for a game that would see
Seaforth explode to a 10 - 0 romp.
The first period was only 1:12
minutes old when Derek Nesbitt got
his first goal of the game on a feed
from Jason Anstco.. Seaforth was
held off the board until 7:47 when
Jared Carnochan converted a solo
effort to give Seaforth a 2 - 0 lead.
Adam Leonhardt was next to put
the puck in the Clinton net with an
end-to-end rush resulting in a three
goal lead at the end of the first
period.
In the second Derek Nesbiu got
his second goal of the afternoon,
Eleven bowlers advance to
Eleven local bowlers have ad-
vanced to the second round of the
Labau's Blue Light Sun Bowl, after
the house round bowled at Starlight
Lanes on Sunday, October 28. In
this Tournament, the bowlers with
the highest scores over their
averages, were the winners.

High scores from the regular
leagues for October 22 to 26 are as
follows: Mike Thompson bowled
312 - 712 for the Egmondville
League; Murray Bennewies was
unassisted. Jared Carnochan con-
tinued his amazing scoring pace
notching two in the second and
Jason Ansteu also had one. Assists
in the second went to Adam Leon-
hardt with two and Jason Anstett,
Derek Nesbitt, and Nau Flanagan
each with one. Seaforth put icing on
the cake in the third with two more
goals, one coming from Derek
Nesbitt and one from the rugged
defenceman, Adam Leonhardt.
Assists went to Ryan Van Dooren,
Jason MacDonald and another to
Jason Ansteu.
Sunday afternoon brought forth
the Mitchell team. Seaforth had
been on the low end of a preseason
game versus this very team, and
Sunday there were no surprises.

Tuesday night the Seaforth
PeeWee team suffered its first
defeat of the season at the hands of
Listowel's Cyclones in Listowel.
With less then five minutes to go
in the first period Seaforth's Chris
Marion netted one assisted by Jason
Henderson and Pat Gridzak. Lis-
towel answered this action by
controlling the game with strong
aggressive tactics and quick defen-
sive moves, resulting in the next
five goals. Seaforth not going in;
Jason Smith, assisted by Chris
Marion, slipped one by Listowel's
goaltender but Listowel once again
retaliated resulting in a 6 - 2 win
for Listowel.
At Goderich on Saturday,
Seaforth was eager to put its
previous loss behind them. Jason
Murray scored an early goal, as-
sisted by Jason Smith, and had the
Seaforth team in high spirits.
Goderich Mates tied the score to
end the first period, but couldn't
slow the Seaforth lads down.
Seaforth went ahead in the
scoring race on a break away, unas-
sisted goal by Shaun Anstett.
And before the period could end,
Steve Mclnally slammed in an
insurance goal to protect his team's
lead.
After a rest during the ice
flooding Goderich popped in two
quick ones to even the tally.
Petites I shut out Goderich
The Seaforth I Petites played in
Seaforth Friday night against
Goderich and won the contest 9 - 0.
Before the three minute mark of
the first period Melissa Robertson
had scored assisted by Abby Dietz.
Cathy Coyne scored at the 12:05
mark. Seaforth continued to
dominate the play for the next 10
minutes. Rookie Michele Forsyth -
Gallagher scored her first official
goal at 2:10 assisted by Cathy
Coyne. Abbey Dietz completed the
scoring in the first period at 1:37.
Going into the second period the
score was 4 - 0 for Seaforth. Cathy
Coyne quickly scored her second . bers for a great game.
Ringette Novice open against Exeter

22, Loons 18, and Buzzards 14.

once again. The entire Seaforth
team, dug in a little harder and
scrambled faster to protect its slim
lead and put the team back on the
victory track with a 4 - 3 win over
Goderich.
