1. MANURE ACTS AS BOTH SOIL
CONDITIONER AND FERTILIZER.
- 4 Analyze soil and manure. Spread to crop
requirements only.
2. INCORPORATE MANURE.
-4 Manure washed away by snowmelt and
runoff is your loss and creates problems.
- ÷ Manure incorporation can be compatible
with conservation tillage practices.
- + Keep nitrogen in the soil instead of losing
it to the air or water.
3. YOU WANT MANURE LIQUIDS TO
STAY PUT!
-3 Manure is toxic to aquatic life.
- 4 Keep an eye on things. Remember, liquid
manure acts like rain where tile drainage
and runoff are concerned. You don't
want your tiles to start running with
liquid manure!
--) Local studies prove that if field tiles
are running before manure application,
the manure will probably flow into and
through the tiles.
-4 Manure draining into municipal drains
and streams is not only a waste but an
offense under environmental legislation.

Seaforth Atom Is shut out Mitchell
The Seaforth Atom I team met
Mitchell for the first time this year
on Sunday, November 4 in
Seaforth. The boys played an excel-
lent game and Charles Robertson
and Sean Ludwig shared the shut
out.
There was no scoring in the first
period, although there were many
good chances. Halfway through the
second period, the scoreboard final-
' ly lit up. Seaforth was`short-handed
at the time, but Jered Munro passed
the puck to Jeremey McNichol who
carried it in and snuck it in the
corner. A minute later, Josh Dietz
passed the puck up to Scott Hender-
son. Scott managed a weak back-
hand, under close checking, but it
crossed the goal line as the goalie
tried to jump on it.
The third period also belonged to
Seaforth. Midway through the
period the boys were able to
capitalize on Mitchell penalty.
Bruce Griffin rushed the puck deep
into the Mitchell end and threw the
puck out front from the side of the
net. Brandon Nash picked it up and
made a quick pass over to Scott
Van Dooren also got the assists on
the next goal a minute and a half
later on another power play oppor-
tunity. This time it was Robbie

Craig who found the empty side.
The final goal came with only 20
seconds remaining. Scott Henderson
and Scott Van Dooren teamed up
for some penalty killing which
developed into a two on one play.
Scou Henderson made a beautiful
lead pass to put Scott Van Dooren
in the clear on a breakaway. Scott
deked the goalie and backhanded
the puck into the net. The boys had
scored two power play goals and
with the last goal they had managed
two short-handed goals also.
The final score was Seaforth 5,
Mitchell 0. Keep up the good work
boys!
Petite teams
face each other
An exhibition game was held in
Seaforth Sunday night between the
two strong Petite Ringette teams.
The teams were ready after prac-
tising together since September to
give it their all. And they did!
The Seaforth II team opened the
scoring with Kathy Devereaux
getting a goal at 13:53, assisted by
Julianne Crowley. The Seaforth I1
team continued to apply pressure
with Kelly Devereaux scoring at
13:01, assisted by Krissy Holland.
Seaforth I team retaliated with
Cathy Coyne scoring at 12:36,
assisted by Anna Mailloux. With
the score close, the Seaforth lIs
began to steadily pick up momen-
tum with Krissy Holland scoring at
10:18, assisted by Sandee Ryan.
Kathy Deveraux then scored at
9:37, assisted by Jane Crowley, and
again at 6:35 to achieve her hat
trick.
Going into the second period,
with the score 5 - 1 for the Seaforth
IIs Kara Murray scored at 14:35,
assisted by Jane Crowley. The
Seaforth I team seemed to start to
turn their game around with Cathy
Coyne scoring at 14:22. For the
next seven minutes, the Seaforth I
team held the Seaforth IIs at bay.
Kathy Devereaux scored her fourth
goal of the game at 7:52, assisted
by Kelly Deveraux. The Seaforth I
team continued to dig in with
Melissa Robertson scoring at 5:17,
but Kara Murray form Seaforth IIs
retaliated with a goal at 5:04, as-
sisted by Kathy Devereaux. The last
goal of the night was scored by
Cathy Coyne at 3:13, assisted by
Melissa Robertson.
The final score was 8 - 4 for the
Seaforth IIs.
This was an exciting prelude for
the next scheduled game on
November 16 at 7:30 p.m. when the
two Seaforth Petite teams will be
squaring off again. Best assured,
this will be an action packed game
so come on out and support the
teams!
Make hoar gore.
