Ms. Wallace sighed, "Another
study to give us wonderful ideals.
We're studied to death and it's at
taxpayer's money. We've been
there before."
Mr. McGrath suggested a motion
that the township sit on the commit-
tee, although not in agreement, until
the matter of financial support
comes up and said, "We can sit on
the committee and pull out at any
time."
The motion was passed with the
opposition of Ms. Wallace who
pointed out that she didn't like the
committee's "idea that rural
unemployment is high here and that
'we farmers need another job.'
There are other ways to get farmers
out of this financial rut. Also, we
don't need tourism in our agricul-
tural community."

OTHER BUSINESS
In other business at Tuckersmith
council the Clerk -Treasurer reported
there had been a problem with mail
pickup at the Canada Post box
outside the township office and
mail was not picked up for two
weeks. Canada Post has agreed to
reimburse anyone who had been
inconvenienced. Mr. McLachlan
reported the township now uses the
ppoost office box outside the store in
Vanastra.
The Clerk -Treasurer was
authorized to prepare a PRIDE
application for Egmondville to
replace some of the existing water
lines. Council also authorized the
installation of a four inch water
main on William Street in front of
the proposed Schoonderwoerd
development in Egmondville.
In his police report Mr. McGrath
reported that Block Parents is
looking for participants in the
township and information is being
sent to the township schools.
Road superintendent Doug Poul-
ton reported he received a mark of
94 per cent at a recent Road School
and Reeve George Cantelon
presented him with a certificate.
Mr. Poulton also reported that
some asphalt had been removed
from the Hensall road and con-
siderable gravel was removed from
underneath the asphalt. He said "It
was a swamp under there" and the
road has been re -asphalted.
Mr. McGrath spoke about people
who build their driveway to their
property lines and that when the
township must work on the water
main, the property owner should
pay for the work. tic said "if we
have to dig up the driveway to
work underground, why should we
(the taxpayers) pay for 11? Some of
these driveways are cement and
hard to cut through."
The accounts approved totalled
S295,962.37 with $ 177.498.4(1
