also busy this week knitting,

Dimaline for volunteering to help
us with our crafts. A heartfelt
thank -you also goes out to everyone
who donated yarn and materials for
ow craft program. The response
was wonderful and the materials
will be put to good use.
Resident Pat Ryan was pleased to
have two special visitors from a
distance in to see him. Mrs. Kath-
leen Hernacki from Sterling Heights
Michigan and Mrs. Pat Short from
London surprised Pat prior to his
birthday. (Oct. 1, Happy Birthday
Pati)
Pat has also begun a new season
with the town bowling leagues as
well as keeping score for our own

Manor Bowling League. We had a
record turnout this week for
bowling with high scores going to
Harry Ball (320), Mattie McGregor
and Frank Smale (each with 300)
and Steve Lupul (280). Our student
volunteers from SPS were Becky
Jervis, Clara Glauser, Christine
Martens, Derek Dayman, Drew
Alkemade and Aaron Ford.
Thanks to their teacher Marilyn
Thomas and her Grade 5/6 class for
their involvement in this "inter-
generational program". Both youth
and seniors benefit from this mor-
ning of activities together.
Several ladies sported new
manicures this week courtesy of
Volunteer Anne Rowland. We
really look forward to Anne's Tues-
day morning manicures and visits.
Rev. Cheryl -Ann Stadelbauer-
Sampa conducted a lovely com-
munion church service for us this
week. Thanks to members of the
Egmondville United Church for
accompanying her and also to Jamie
Sampa for singing "Jesus Loves
Me". We were also pleased that
Grace Stadelbauer, Cheryl -Ann's
mother, was present as it gave us
an opportunity to thank her for her

SUNDAY SCHOOL AWARDS
Sunday School awards were
presented at the morning service at
Duff's United Church this week. Jo
Ann McDonald made the presen-
tations retiring teachers, Helen
Craig and Betty McCallum were
presented with gifts.
Rev. Bonnie Cole Arnal thanked
all who helped to make the special
anniversary service and the Pres-
byterial meeting two very suc-
cessful events. Greeters Sunday
morning were Don and Marilyn
McDonald Doug Fraser and Allan
Searle received the offering.
In the announcements it was
noted that the deadline for orders
for the church history is October 9.

McDonald if interested. The Junior
choir meets on Thursday at 4:15
p.m. and new members welcomed.
The official board meeting will be
held on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Next
Sunday, October 7 the communion
service will start at 10 a.m.

Ladies Aid holds
90th anniversary
The Ladies Aid of 1st Pres-
byterian Church in Seaforth held its
90th Anniversary service on Sunday
September 23. Edith McMillan and
Viola Lawson assisted with the
readings.
Rev. James Sloan spoke to the
group and reminded those as-
sembled that everyone is important
to a society. Jean Keys, Dorothy
Papple, Edith Coleman and Alice
Reid took the collection. Service
greetings were brought from the
Church Board, the Session and
Friendship and Fireside groups. The
Session also presented a floral
arrangement.
Lunch was served by the Church
Board members and their wives and
a social time was enjoyed by all.
Mary Riley, President, thanked all
who had helped in any way and
taken part in the service.
On Wednesday, September 26 the
Ladies Aid had a social evening in
the basement of the church. A short
program was put and included a
skit conducted by Edith Coleman
and featuring Edith McMillian,
Donnie Smith, Dorothy Papple and
Edith Coleman. Irene Nicholson
sang a solo accompanied by Carol
Carter. Gary Jewitt showed slides
and spoke of his trip to Liberia. All
was enjoyed. Lunch was served by
Ladies Aid members and consisted
of ice cream and Birthday Cake.
Again Mary thanked all for taking
part in the celebration.

ladies sweater for our fundraising
projects. We certainly appreciate
her hard work and generosity.
This week we also had an after-
noon of euchre with Volunteer
Ladies Doreen Kelly, Eva
McCartney, Anne Downey, Mar-
jorie Maloney and Mary Nolan. Our
winners this week included: High
Men's - Tom Gemmell; Low Men's
- Frank Smale; High Ladies - Mar-
garet Smale; Low Ladies - Mamie
Ross and Lone Hands - Pat Ryan.

DUFFY-NASH
Eileen Roberta Duffy and Robert
Paul Nash were married Saturday,
September 29, 1990 at St. Colum -
ban Catholic Church. Father Joseph
Hardy officiated. The bride is a
daughter of Robert and Ruth Duffy
of RR 1 Dublin, and the groom is a
son of Jim and Ginette Nash of
Seaforth. Maid of honor was An-
gela Duffy of Kitchener and brides-
maids were Barb Flanagan of
Dublin, Glenda Beuermann of
Kitchener, Joyce Devereaux of
Seaforth and Hilda Crocker of
Dublin. Flower girl was Andrea
Finlayson of Seaforth. Best man
was Jim Nash of Seaforth and
guests were ushered by Bill Dale of
Seaforth, Gary Nash of Seaforth,
Tom Duffy of Seaforth and Don
Crocker of Dublin. Ringbearer was
Joel Schenck of Seaforth. Readers
were Tammy Nash of Seaforth and
Cathy Hulley of Seaforth.
Candlelighters were John Mark
Nash of Seaforth and Dave Crocker
of Exeter. Offertory was by
Gregory DeVries and Melissa Fin-
layson, both of Seaforth. Music was
provided by Lucille and Jayne
Delaney of Dublin. Following a
reception at the Seaforth and
District Community Centres the
couple took a honeymoon trip to
the Dominican Republic. They will
