day were John and Mary Jo Nelson
of Lucknow and Gerry and Karen

AN ENGAGING PERFORMANCE - St. Cokimban Primary School
and St. James Separate School students from Grades Kindergar-
ten to Four, were witness to an engaging musical and dramatic
performance on Monday afternoon when Ronno productions
performed. Ronno promotes positive values and teaming attitudes
through song themes stressing self-esteem, doing your best,
getting along with others, accepting differences, and caring for the

Shea family hold reunion at hall

The Shea family reunion was held
at the Knights of Columbus Hall,
St. Columban, Sunday to celebrate
the occasion of Joe Shea's 83
birthday, and the 53 wedding an-
niversary of Joe and Loretto Shea.
Family gathered from Guelph,
Hamilton, Kitchener, Cambridge,
Stratford, London, Zurich, Exeter,
St. Columban and Dublin.
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, the
Catholic Women's League of St.
Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in
Dublin held its fust meeting of the
fall in the Rectory with their new
executive, President Julie VanBakel,
Treasurer Kim Nyland, and
Secretary Dorothy Dillon. The new
Pastor, Rev. Father Thomas Janisse,
was welcomed to the Parish.
Twenty-seven members were
present.
Various events were discussed,
such as the C.W.L Bazaar on
Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m.in the
Parish Hall with a bake table,
crafts, penny sale, and a draw for a
quilt along with entertainment and
lunch. Dorothy Dillon read the
minutes and correspondence. Kim
Nyland gave the treasurer's report.
Father Janisse discussed many
future improvements and also his
guide with various groups in the
Parish. We appreciate his ability.
The guest speaker, Doreen Dedrick
(mother of Kim Nyland) displayed
her excellent crafts and ornaments
and guided them in an enjoyable
manner. Mrs. Dedrick was thanked
for her time and talents. The
meeting was closed in the usual
manner.
Olga Eckert is a patient in
Stratford General Hospital. We,
your friends and neighbors, wish
her well and improvement after
surgery last week. Mrs. Katherine
Looby has also been a patient in
Seaforth Hospital for a few weeks
after suffering injuries from a fall in
her home. We hope Katherine is
soon well and home again.

Kelly on the arrival of their first
grandchildren, a boy a girl, to their
daughters and son -in-laws recently.
Our nephew, Jim Davidson from
Toronto, was up on the wee::end
and also visited with Grandma
Davidson at the Ritz Villa in
Mitchell.
Katie Murray attended the bridal
shower for Miss Patricia Reitzel,
bride-to-be of her grandson, Martin
Murray in Kitchener on Sunday.
With Katie Murray for a few days
this week are her brother Philip
Flannagan, from Burlington and her
nephew Philip Jr. from Toronto.
With Millie Evans on Sunday
were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jordan from
Sarnia.
Jerry and Marie Eckert from
Owen Sound were with Joe Eckert
on the weekend and visited with
Olga Eckert in hospital. Also home
on the weekend were Barb Canning
and John Eckert from North York
with Joe Eckert and visited Mother
(Olga) in hospital.

PRALINE PUMPKIN PIE
Abit unusual, yrs, but the crunchy
praline that tops this traditional
pumpkin pie has made this dessert an all
time favourite with Terri and her
family of six.

1 1/4 cup YORK Canned Pumpinn 400 rise
Roll out half of dough and fit
into 9" (23 cm) pie platy. Trim ed r
even with pie plate. Roll out remaining
pastry. Cut out small leaf, heart or circle
shapes of dough using small cutter or
sharp knife. Platt shapes around
dampened pie crust edge and
press lightly to secure.
Beat all filling ingredients. Pour into
pie shell. Bake on lower oven rack in a pre-
heated 450°F (230°C) oven for 15 minutes
then reduce heat to 350°F (180°C) for 25 -
30 minutes or until set. (Insert knife in
centre; if it comes out dean, the pit is done.)
Mix together topping ingredients.
Sprinkle evenly over pie. Cover pastrli
with foil. Broil 5" (12 on) from heat until
topping is bubbly and browned. Serve
or cooled with Nutriwhip topping.
