Tho King's Printers Department has
been kept busy do 'ng the past few
weeks sending out etween 5,000 and

1905 to Justices of tae Peace and others

of 1905 make a volur ie of 838 pages. The
newly•appoiuted J.L.'s will not receive
copies of the reviser statutes until 1907,
when a revision a id consolidation of
the statutes will be nade by a commis-
sion of judges, Ma, takes place every
ten years under th , provisions of law,
the last revision having been made in
1897.

very successful special meeting of Camp
Caledonia, Sons of . Scotland was held,
and was very large attended. At the
close of the meeting the members march-
ed, headed by Pipe McDonald, to L.
Kennedy's Star rests rant, where oysters
were served and a ppy hour spent by
the members. Gran Organizer Gibson
has been in town fo two weeks and on
Monday evening of this week another
special meeting of th Camp was held,
when a number of n w members were
initiated. Mr. Gibe n did very good
work during his sta here. The local
Camp is in a very pr porous condition,
and now has a good mbership.

in the Wingham rip on Friday evening
last, was largely att nded. The visitors
from Palmerston w re not in the same
class with the Wivam players. The

months and last Thursday evening he
retired, feeling Mich better than he bad
for some days, h it on Friday morning
he was found de id in bed. Mr. Abra•
ham was born ir( Ireland and in early
manhood emigre ;ed to Canada and after
living in several places, he settled in
Paris over fifty years ago, where he
learned the shoe making trade and in
that place fifty Nears ago he was mar-
ried to Miss E izabeth Weldon, who
pre•deceasecl hire in November 1902. A
little over forty tears ago the subject
of this notice moved to Wingham and
since that time I as been engaged in the
shoe making alio repairing business. In
the early days le employed as many as
five workmen. ` He was a man of
many good pate and one of his chain
objects in life w is "To owe no man a
dollar," and he always practiced what
be preached it this particular. Mr.
Abraham was w 41 posted on the early
history of Wini liaus and surrounding
country and the writer has had many
interesting chats with him on the hap-
penings of the eerly days. Ile was a
staunch Conservative and was active iu
every campaign. For twenty years he
had been a mercer of the Wingham
. School Board. We was a member of
Wingham L. 0..1i. and for many years
. was Treasurer of the lodge. When the
: Orange hall was wilt in Wingham, Mr.
Abraham had th) money in hand to
hand over for the payment in full for the
building. Our o d friend will be greatly
missed in the tos u. He is survived by
two sons Robert . ud William, who are
residing in the tV stern States, and one
daughter, Mrs. D. McKay, who has been
residing with her other for some meths
past. The funer on Sunday afternoon
to Wingham cem tery was largely at-
tended. The ser ties at the house and
grave were con acted by Rev. T. S.
Boyle, Mr. Abrah m being one of tlio
early members St. Paul's church.

Another fatal and unfortunate acci-

Wood was killed by a ailing tree. Mr,
Wood and Mr. Andre Leggatt were en-
gaged cutting wood or Mr. John B.
Hardie On the Frid y morning they
. were nutting down a tr a and it lodged.
Mr. Leggatt saw the d ger, but not in
time to warn his unfgr unate comrade.
The tree struck Mr. ood on the head
and also breaking his a m, leg and free -
taring his right side. he unfortunate
man lived for less th half an hour
after the accident. De aced was in 60th
year(.nd had lived for over forty years
in Turnberry. He ha many years ex-
