We cannot bring the old times back,
Your hand we cannot touch,
But we still have sweet memories,
Of the one we loved so much.
What we would give to hold your
hand.
Your happy face to see,
To hear your voice and see your
smile,
That meant so much to us
What you suffered you told but few,
You didn't deserve what you went
through
They say that memories are golden,
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you

HAIST
In loving memory of a dear husband,
father, grandfather and great-
grandfather, Elton (Jake) Haist, who
passed away twelve years ago,
September 21, 1978.
Sometimes an old fashioned song,
Brings thoughts of you;
Or a flower, as I walk along,
Under a sky that is azure blue;
As time passes into years,
Memories keep you ever near,
Silent thoughts of times together,
Hold memories that will last forever.
ALWAYS REMEMBERED and sadly
missed by his wife, Ethel, daughter
Betty, son Billy, sisters Vera and
Velma, and granddaughter Marie

Egmond and Elgin Nott, September
28.
September, fall, schooldays,
routines! What is a routine? It sure
isn't dull living without one. Sep-
tember with its cooler days brings
the urge to get out and go!
WE enjoyed a wonderful trip to
the Quilt Show at the Huron Coun-
ty Museum in Goderich. The
weather even co-operated beautiful-
ly for a picnic lunch of Kentucky
Fried Chicken at the Lighthouse.
Some of our residents were out to
watch the Fall Fair Parade and our
trip to the African Lion Safari has
been planned for September 25,
weather permitting. Thanks to Nor-
ma Altman, Grace Cartwright, Betty
Diebold and Chris and Danny Mor-
rison for their assistance to make
these outings possible. Norma and
Betty volunteered not only their
time. but their vehicles.
Our YAH! nweung was held
early this month on request of Peg
Campbell of the Town Council to
discuss further ideas regarding
disabled parking un Main Street.
We appreciate being approached for
our opinions and feel we have been
well listened to. Thank you to Peg
and the Protection Commitee.
Exercise classes are still being
enjGyed, or endured, Monday and
Friday mornings. Some of our
residents join the nursing home for
church services, sing -a -longs, and
euchre parties. Nature is a
wondrous thing and our residents
have enjoyed watching a small
caterpillar feeding on milkweed
leaves, transform to a chrysalis. We
patiently await our butterfly!
Birthday wishes went out this
month to Olive Ball and warm
welcome wishes to Jetze and Antje
Valdhuis. They are a lovely couple
who came to us from their home in
Goderich. Unfortunately Jetze just
got settled here when medical
complications took him to hospital.
Our prayers are with Jetze as we
wish him a speedy recovery.
Love conquers all. How true. It is
so inspiring to feel the love bet-
ween our couples and watch how
this love, though weathered through
many storms of life, give each one
the strength to face yet another
crisis. If only more of our
generation could experience such
love.
