Oxford photo. THE HURON EXPOSITOR, SEPTEMBER 26 1990 LITTLE APPALOOSA - This little guy was part of the Appaloosa show Saturday at the Seaforth Fall Fair grounds. The show had about 30 entraints from Ontario and Michigan. Oxford photo. Shabha Horse Show a success For the first time a Shabha (South Huron All Breeds Horse As- sociation) horse show was held at the Seaforth Agricultural Society arena following the Fall Fair Friday evening and the response to the show was excellent. Shabha or- ganizer Kelly Ryan said "The people who gave to the fair and the Shabha show were wonderful and gave to both events. We hope to have another Shabha horse show next year." The Shabha horse show was open to people of all ages and had 25 classes for entrants. One of the show's highlights was a musical pails fun game where contestants rode their horses around pails to music and when the music stopped BY SUSAN OXFORD there was a delightful scramble as contestants jumped off their horses to sit on pails until only one pail was left. The winner of that event beat out all other contestants on her squirt pony. Judge Butch Miller, Beamsville, judged the competitions and en- couraged the young people par- ticipating in the Shabha show. Shabha organizer Adrian (Art) Brand, Crediton, participated in some of the classes with some of the beautiful Arabian horses he raises. Mr. Brand has won the International Approved Region 18 top 5 trails class at the Canadian National Exhibition and the 1990 Eastern Breeders Canadian Breeders SHOWING SUCH STYLE - Butch Miller, judge of the Shabha horse show, entered the Appaloosa show the next day astride his solid colour Appaloosa. "The Shabha show at the Seaforth Fall fair was an experiment with an evening show and I found it was a little long after having been there with 4-H show. I was disappointed in the number of the showout. Some of our members didn't show up because, I think, most of them didn't realise there was an arena at the Seaforth fair grounds. I was pleased with the arena. It will have to be tried again. "The spectator showout was good. Butch Miller was a good and fair judge considering it was an all - breeds horse show. That makes it difficult to judge a show." 3 COMMUNITY CALENDAR 4 it re orgentaing a nen.prollt event of Meurer* to ether Seeterth area residents, phone the muaM$n &Mee ill or the Expositor et 11274140, or meet the Information to Cdty Calender, The Huron Expositor, Gorr a 1 wallwallM advertise of the ealleduled date.
