Carmel congregation
welcomes back friend
Love is like magic and it always
will bc.
For love still remains Life's sweet
Mystery
Love works in ways that are
wondrous and strange
And t!>Grc' $ notdung in life
That love cannot Change....
Mrs. Joyce Pepper presided at the
Carmel Presbyterian Church organ
on Sunday, September 16 and
played a fine prelude to the service.
is e.
Our minister, Rev. Mart Gaskin,
called the congregation to worship
and the service began with a
responsive reading.
After the sane tus "Holy, Holy,
Holy" was sung, Rev. Mark had
some very good news for us.
Several months, ago Nigel Arthur
was critically injured when a
mobile home fell an him. it was
feared he might mot have a suc-
cessful or early recovery. Sunday,
he attended church with his loved
ones. he had thanked Rev. Mark for
tus many visits and the prayers of
the people, the P.C.W. and all who
helped in his recovery. We arc all
most grateful for this blessing.
The =vice proceeded with the
prayer of adoration and the Lord's
prayer. Psalm of Praiac. Prayer of
confession and assurance of pardon,
along with hymns, were next a
order.
The word of God, prayer of il-
lumination, old testament lagoon and
a resiionsive reading."Gloria Petri",
epistle lesson and gospel lesions
followed in order along with
hymns.
Rev. Mark's ser
mon;'forgiveness", was ver)
impressive and applies to us all.
Ascription of Praise, prayers of the
people, the offering, and the amens
closed the service until next Sunda:.

The Thanksgiving Service with
Communion will be held at Carmel
on Sunday, October 7.

The Seaforth Manor Nursing
Home and Seaforth Manor
Retirement Home are presently
recruiting new volunteers to add to
our present Volunteer Program.
Without our volunteers, we could
not provide the wide variety of
activities we now have. If you are
interested in having fun, meeting
people and helping others we would
be happy to add your name to our
list!
The Nursing Home is especially
looking for an individual or group
to lead an "Indoor Gardening"
program for our residents for ap-
Who's
proximately one hour, once a
month. Anyone with a green thumb
and a love of plants would be ideal!
Any ideas for indoor gardening
projects for the fall and winter
would be very much appreciated.
Also, an individual or group is
needed to lead a "Woodworking
Program" with residents once a
month for approximately one hour.
A knowledge of small woodcraft
projects is all that is required. For
both of these programs, materials
and assistance would be supplied.

pound of butter costs ap-
proximately $3.19. A local grocery
store manager tells me that butter
went up approximately 20 cents a
pound two weeks ago, and that the
increase in the price of milk can be
expected whenever marketing
policy warrants it. Who is getting
the raise here? Not the dairy
farmer!

often deplored the low price that
farmers receive at the farm gate.
He has stated that farmers are en-
titled to a decent price for their
product; a price that is relevant to
their input costs, and which gives
them a decent living, without their
having to depend on off -farm in-
come to subsidize their farming
operation. Go for it, Paul!

THE ONE WITH THE GLASSES is Harvey Beuerman, and his
friend with the weird face is a mutant sunflower that toppled from
one of his plants last week. Judging from the smile on the flower's
mug, Harvey had better keep an eye on this one _ A takeover
could be in the works. Elliott photo.
