A community shower was held on

casion. As Triads, relatives and

Mitchell and Kaibleen Cuthill cnta-
tained with selections of good old -
t me music. Heather Williamson
and Bev Stevenson attended to the
guest bode, and everyone's name
was written on a cameo luncheon
cloth made by Phyllis Mitchell.
Corsages were pinned on Ruthie,
her mother Ruth Thamer and the
groom's mother Mrs. Uyl of Blyth.
Gloria Wilbee was the M.C. for
the program, and she welcomed
everyone and introduced the family
members. Mary Humphries gave a
reading, "Wife's Ten Con-
nandments". Margery Huether
played numb tor a song COMM, and
Lee Ann and Kelly McDonald
entertained with their step dancing
Heidi Mc;Clute gave a reading.
"Recipe for a Happy Home" and
Marie McGavin Lod in a lively sing-
song ac;c ompainied by Elva Wilbee
at die piano. Gloria Wilbee rang a
selection of songs with her guitar.

Johns who was unable to be
present. Several friends of the
bride-to-be carried in the gifts.
Ruthie thanked everyone, and in-
vited them to her open house at
Blyth on Saturday. The bows were
put on a small umbrella and
presented to Ruthie, and a rousing
rendition of "For she's a jolly good
fellow" was sung.
Over 60 people were present at
the shower, and they formed a large
circle around the room when Wal-
ton ladies of the church served a
delicious lunch.

town, starring this gargantuan plant in Harold Coleman's John St.
backyard. The vine, which towers nine feet, is drooping with fat
tomatoes and is the pride of his garden. The secret? "Rainwater

Institute members show
off their handicrafts
Seaforth Women's Institute met at
the home of Glayds Doig with a
good number in attendance. The
meeting opened with the Institute
Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. The
roll call was answered with craft
work that members had done and
many lovely articles including
guilts, cushions, slipper, Christmas
Decorations and scarfs were
displayed. Minutes were read and
adopted.
The county Rally is set for Oc-
tober 1 at Belgrave, and the London
Area convention will be on October
11 in Exeter. Delegates were
chosen for these two meetings. The
Junior Farmers banquet will be held
in Clinton on October 1 as well.
Plans were finalized for the
Seaforth booth.
Mary Nolan gave the Motto, `The
importance of reading" and also
gave a reading. Gladys Doig and
Olive Papple demonstrated the
different ways to wear scarfs and
the meeting closed with a lunch
served by the committee in charge.

AN EXPLANATION of the purpose and effect of the by-law, describing the lands to
which the by-law applies Is provided below. The oomplete by-law Is available for

BY-LAW NO. 35 - 1990
By-law 35 - 1940 has the following purpose and effect:
1. By-law 35 - 1990 repeals the designation of the land and buildings owned by
Jerome Aubin and Joanne Aubin, and known municipally as '"The Kunz
Residence" - 11 Victoria Street.
Upon application by the Owner, and after consultation with the Local
Architecture, Coneervetion Advisory Committee, the Seaforth Town Council
granted their consent to rept the designating by-law, as the original Intent of
designation wee on a voluntary basin.
This by-law Moo repeals by-law number 12 - 1978 Inaolr as It affects A8 of Lot
30 and part of lots 5 and 4 aaoording to Registered Plan *1, In the Town of
Seaforth.

sharpen up their tools
The cool fall weather is signalling
an end to our spring and summer
travelling. We'll have to c„ ntent
ourselves soon with our regular
indoor activities and programs. The
men's woodworking program will
start in October in order to have
items ready for our November Craft
and Bake Sale.
Residents welcomed the Hensall
Presbyterian ladies on Monday as
the provided prizes and assistance
at Bingo.
Tuesday's church service was led
by Reverend Grand Darling of
Bayview. Everyone enjoyed his
thought-provoking and energetic
presentation and it was also fun
learning new songs.
A trip to the Western Fair on
Wednesday was the highlight of the
week for several residents. A big
`thank you' to Rose Erb, our volun-
teer van driver, and Marlene Peck
for making it possible for residents
to enjoy this outing.
"The Incredible Journey", our
featured video for Thursday, drew
an excellent crowd of animal -loving
residents. Everyone who attended
agreed that it was a great film.
