What is -Food Week about?
Agri -Food Week was initiated to
promote agriculture and
agribusiness to the general public,
the consumer. Today agrx:ukurc is
facing many challenges and nuscon-
coptions - environmental concerns,
consumers' demands, productxxn,
anarkcung and international trade,
therefore it is often necessary for
agriculture and agn-business to
preset their facts. Agri -Food
Week, October 1 - 7, 1990, will see
many events planned to promote
agriculture and educate the con-
sumer about the many aspects of
agriculture and agn-business.
The Huron County Junior Farmers

million in loans have been com-

in the development of over 11,000

"Rental homes are an important
source of housing for many people
in our community," noted Mr.
Sweeney. "These converted
apartments are an excellent example
of how the Ontario government is
encouraging the better use of exis-
ting structures to create more
housing."
The Convert -to -Rent program
helps to convert non-residential
properties such as vacant schools,
factories, or space over retail stores,
into rental housing. The program
also encourages the construction of
new rental accommodation that is
connected to existing residential or
non-residential property.
