Walton area Sports committee
held their meeting, August 16 with
all members present. In the new
business, a variety night was
planned for later in the fall. Most of
the ball games are over for this
season, except for the Pee Wee
Girls, who still have to complete a
couple of games.
Several people from - this area
auended the engagement party for
Ruthie Thames and John Uyl on
Saturday, August 25 at the Blyth
Community Centre. Linda Brock
won the door prize.
Church service resumes this Sun-
day, September 2 at Duff's United
Church at 10 a.m.
September 5 is the joint general
meeting of the U.C.W. at the
church at 8 p.m., executive will
meet at 7:30 p.m.
A corn roast was held for the
ladies ball team recently at the
home of Jo Anne McDonald.

LOCAL TALENT - The Arrive Alive co-ordinators were in town
last week, handing out prizes to local winners in the 1990 Amve
Alive poster contest. Receiving awards for their age groups were

Nolan reunion held at

The Nolan family reunion was
held on Sunday, August 26 at Wilf
and Pat (Nolan) Hartleib's cottage
at Conestoga Lake.
Those attending were Steve and
Anne Murray, Mistie and Dean,
Brian Melady, Jr., Dublin; Dean
and Donna Cornish and Jenny of
Ilderton; Ted and Mary Anne Jan-
maat, Marion Cornish of Goderich;
Anna Nolan, Clinton; Joe and Helen
Nolan, St. Columban; Louis Nolan
and Vincent Murray of Seaforth,
and James Nolan of St. Thomas.
Many boat rides and water skiing
trips were enjoyed throughout this
summer day. A delicious smorgas-
bord and reminiscing followed the
activities.

and Danielle spent four days last
week with Don Melady at his cot-
tage in Huntsville.

Strathroy spent the weekend with
Cecilia Ryan, and attended the
wedding of their niece Barbara
Eckert to Bradford Canning on
Saturday at St. Patrick's Church,
Dublin. Gerry and Karen Ryan and
Cecilia Ryan also auended the
Eckert - Canning wedding.
The Hicknell reunion was held at
the home of Frances and Marie
Hicknell. People attending came
from Cambridge, Kitchener,
Belgrave, Port Stanley, Listowel,
Dashwood, Elmira and Sarnia.
