Muir sweeps 1990 Goderich Pacing Series with B -Line Blessing
BY MIKE WILLISCRAFT
Its beg uuu to sound like a
broken record but, ho hum. B Linc
Blessing won again a Goderich
Raceway last Thursday.
This tune, however, the victory
by the John Muir -owned, trained
and driven mare casae in the $3,250
final of the Goderich Pacing Series
for S2,000 claimers.
The duo two length, 2:04.2 win
Thursday, plus another win at Clin-
ton Raceway Sunday gave the
dauuhtcr of Armbro Ranger seven
straight wins. She also has three
seconds in just 12 starts, good for
earnings of more than $5,200.
B Line Blessing was installed as
the 4-5 betting favorite by the 960 -
plus harness fans on hand but
Springing Thru, who also went
undefeated through the preliminary
legs, received some consideration.
As the gate sped away, dnvcr had
Springing Thru motoring right
behind it and the pair toast com-
mand by the :29.2 first quarter.
With Dorothy Dallas R Qressuruig
on the outside, the field zipped past
the half mile marker in 1:00.2.
While the speed duel continued
on the front end, Muir bided his
time in sixth position and he Upped
out down the backstretch and
ranged into contention by the 1:32
three-quarter pole.
Springing thio was clinging to a
slim half-length lead at the top of
the stretch but B Line Blessing was
suu full of pie as she coasted to a
handy two -length win.
The win for Muir was his third of
four on the tight.
Veteran pacer Crash Helmet, a
lifetime winner of more than
$ 156,000, took second spot while
Springing Thru hung on for third
place.
